CHRIS PINE IS QUENTIN TARANTINO’S FAVORITE ACTOR

You can tell that Chris Pine’s girlfriend Annabelle Wallis is from the UK because she’s wearing a tweed coat in LA. It’s also clear that Chris is an LA guy because he combined a cashmere hoody with Birkenstock sandals. They were photographed approaching Gelsen’s market with some trepidation today, but they walked out smiling, having found most of what they wanted, with no indication of hoarding. We didn’t realize that Star Trek star Chris, 39, is Quentin Tarantino’s favorite actor “in his age range.”

QUENTIN TARANTINO’S INSPIRATION: BURT REYNOLDS!

Here’s something we didn’t know about Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood: the friendship between Leonardo DiCaprio’s actor character and Brad Pitt’s stuntman character was based on the lifelong friendship of Burt Reynolds and his stuntman Hal Needham. Burt and Hal had matching egos and machismo (not to mention gold chains and chest hair) and they were inseparable friends. Hal even lived in Burt’s guesthouse free for twelve years until he got married again. Hal died in 2013, and Quentin wanted Burt to appear in his movie, but Burt died last year.

QUENTIN TARANTINO HAS AN AMBITIOUS WIFE

Quentin Tarantino knows how to make his new wife happy – he gave her a role in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Daniella Pick is an Israeli model and aspiring actress and she’s been having trouble landing acting jobs. Daniella, 35, and Quentin, 56, got married last year after a few years of dating. First time for both. The movie has a large cast, but we think Daniella played a sexy hitchhiker that flirted with Brad Pitt’s character. Daniella loves premiers and posing on the red carpet with her husband – she certainly will be disappointed if Quentin actually retires after his next film, like he threatens to do…

LEO AND BRAD CRUISE THE STRIP IN 1969

Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt are spending a lot of time hanging out together while filming their Tarantino movie Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. They play best friends in the movie – both actors looking for jobs in 1969 – Leo’s character lives next door to Sharon Tate. Leo, 43, and Brad, 54, don’t have a lot in common so we wonder what they chat about between takes. Leo is all about partying and modelizing, while Brad has never been much of a party guy – or a modelizer, for that matter. Brad is particularly happy this week because he has his kids at his Los Feliz house when he comes home each night – thanks to a judge who gave him more access. We hear traffic is a nightmare on the blocks in Hollywood where they recreated the Manson era on Sunset Strip.

BRAD PITT AND LEONARDO DICAPRIO TIME TRAVEL IN HOLLYWOOD

They JUST started filming and already we’re excited to see Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood! Leonardo DiCaprio posted this photo of himself and costar Brad Pitt in their 1969 hairstyles and garb. Leo plays the former star of a Western TV series looking for work and Brad plays his BFF stunt double. Leo’s character happens to live next door to actress Sharon Tate and you KNOW what happened to her. So the Manson murders and people involved feature heavily in the plot. It’ll be fun to see Sunset Strip packed with rock stars and hippies from that era.

QUENTIN TARANTINO FOUND THE FEET OF HIS DREAMS

Never-married director Quentin Tarantino, 54, just got ENGAGED a few days ago to Israeli singer Daniela Pick, 33. They’ve known each other for eight years, but Tarantino admitted he was too obsessed with making movies to even THINK about having a personal life. Coincidentally or not, he’s been talking about retiring from the film business (we presume after the Manson film.) Given Tarantino’s well-documented foot fetish, it’s interesting to note Daniela’s sexy feet and transparent heels….

QUENTIN TARANTINO’S LOVE AFFAIR WITH MAYHEM PAID OFF

Quentin Tarantino, 52, got his star on The Walk of Fame just in time to promote The Hateful Eight. (He didn’t dress for the event, did he!) In spite of the fact that Quentin thinks that “Violence is one of the most fun things to watch,” his movies always have some clever dialog and humorous moments. Spike Lee complains that Quentin is “infatuated with the n-word.” Indeed, his latest movie features the forbidden word around 65 times. In spite of his ego and penchant for violence, Quentin’s movies are often highly entertaining. Above, Jackie Brown star Pam Grier came to the Star ceremony to congratulate Quentin.

QUENTIN TARANTINO INVITED MOST OF HOLLYWOOD TO “INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS” PARTY

Hollywood parties often attract the same old crowd, but Quentin Tarantino hosted a party celebrating the many Oscar nominations of “Inglourious Basterds” and he invited a truly diverse crowd, with many faces we don’t often see. Daryl Hannah turned up with her new boyfriend, Paul Blackthorne, who was a soap star in the UK.
Melanie Griffith brought her starlet daughter Dakota Johnson to the party – Dakota has small roles in two movies coming out this year including “The Social Network” starring Justin Timberlake. Social networking is no doubt what she’s doing at this event.
Of Course, Cher was at the party – she’s been in the mood to go out lately. We’re not sure about the red eye shadow…
It’s been AGES since we’ve seen Rebecca De Mornay or Richard Chamberlain. We always envied Rebecca because she dated Leonard Cohen in the 90’s. She has a new Rob Reiner movie coming out called “Flipped.”
More faces we don’t see around a lot – Erik Estrada and Dyan Cannon, both looking happy to be there.
