TYLA: FASHION WITH A SENSE OF HUMOR

South African singer/songwriter Tyla turned up at Clive Davis’s pre-Grammy party in this highly unusual and fun outfit. She almost looks like a cave girl with big bones twisted into her skimpy loin cloth. She gets points for originality (everybody else seemed to wear see-through mesh) -hers must be a South African designer. Tyla, 22, wore a gown to the award show and she WON a Grammy for Best African Music Performance, so it’s likely we will be seeing lots more of this cutie.

She’s debuted the movie in Los Angeles on Saturday, February 3, and hosted the screening and after party. For those lucky enough to be invited, this wasn’t the typical free popcorn and candy movie screening. Following in her billionaire dad’s footsteps, Nicole hosted an over-the-top soirée at The Beverly Hills Hotel, and she spent half a million dollars on the party! Suddenly Brooklyn has a wife who is more famous and successful than HE is!

KARDASHIAN PARTIES: NOT AS HOT AS THEY USED TO BE?

Is the influence of the Kardashians finally waning? Matriarch Kris Jenner’s annual Christmas Eve party is usually the hottest invite in town, but this year the only A-Listers who bothered to show up were mostly family members. According to a source who has attended the parties in the past, although lavish, the party has morphed into one large social media photo shoot with professional lighting, a glam squad of hairdressers and makeup artists, and over the top background decorations. As my source explained, it used to be fun, but now it’s kind of a chore – so that could be why the turnout wasn’t so great this year.

According to a family friend, Kris and her offsprings gather every few months – usually on a Sunday since their schedules are jammed during the week – and have a top skin doctor come to their home to inject everyone with Botox! Our source says that the family pays a fortune for an afternoon of injections with the house call going for $25,000 plus the cost of the treatments. Kris usually pays and occasionally will treat her friends as well to the ultimate beauty luxury.

OK- here’s a little Oscar mystery. Britney Spears’ personal trainer fiancee Sam Asghari turned up dressed in a tuxedo, at the Elton John AIDS viewing party ALONE. No Britney. What do you suppose happened? Certainly Britney was the one invited. Invitees donate a lot of money to enjoy this event. Tickets just to the after-party cost over $5000 apiece- and the dinner tickets (when Sam arrived) costs $9000 per person. Did Britney back out at the last minute? If so, why did Sam come alone? Does he have wealthy friends to hang with inside? Hmmm…

Of course the food was amazing – salad bars, candy tables – everything a girl could want. Best of all was the shopping element- lingerie, makeup, Spanx of course, luggage, designer clothing of all kinds, and the price was right – FREE! The girls all left with overflowing shopping bags – Jennifer had a friend carry hers. Sounds dreamy…
