Catfish MTV Nev Schulman Sexual Misconduct

THANKS MTV – FOR DOING THE RIGHT THING WITH NEV SCHULMAN

It’s gratifying to see how intelligently MTV handled the misconduct allegations against Catfish host Nev Schulman. They put Catfish production on hold and HIRED AN INDEPENDENT INVESTIGATOR to scrutinize the charges made by a woman who appeared on the show. She alleged that Schulman pressured her to have sex with him. Schulman denied the allegations and pointed out that coworkers present at that time would back him up. Investigators found the charges to be without merit, and Catfush resumed production. We’re happy to see that no one was instantly fired nor were shows abruptly canceled until charges were thoroughly examined. It’s a shame that some ex-girlfriends, wannabe girlfriends or just bad dates drop bombshell charges without merit against guys for some kind of revenge. The #MeToo movement is way too important for this kind of frivolity.

MTV Jackass star Johnny Knoxville still has repercussions from injuries he got doing those crazy stunts on the show. But he doesn’t take any chances with his kids Rocko, 4, and Arlo, 3. Since his film Bad Grandpa was successful, he has a lucrative deal with Paramount and doesn’t have to indulge in physically dangerous activities any more. – unless he wants to.

DAVID HASSELHOFF: DRESSED TO KILT

Attention seeking David Hasselhoff, 62, turned up at the MTV Europe Music Awards in Glasgow inexplicably wearing an authentic Scottish kilt outfit from head to toe. He and his younger girlfriend Hayley Roberts, 34, are still together after two years. David rather ungallantly says he “picked up Hayley (who worked in a factory) in a hotel bar” in Wales and they’ve been together ever since.

JERSEY SHORE’S SNOOKI HAS A BRIGHT FUTURE WITH MTV

It looks like MTV is ready to follow Jersey Shore’s Snooki through more years of her life, whether she gives up partying or not. Her show “Snooki & JWoww” premiers tonight and just as the roommates sign their lease on their Jersey City apartment, Snooki announces she’s pregnant. So the “Laverne & Shirley “ of 2012 will not go as planned, but it will go. Followed by this summer’s “Jersey Shore” season. MTV will probably film the birth of Snooki’s baby, followed by her marriage to Jionni LaValle. Rumors are circulating that Snooks and Jionni will be living in his parents BASEMENT after that! That can ONLY mean that MTV wants a newlywed series because Snooki has plenty of money for a fancy home. Her fans identify with her as an average girl so she can’t appear to be TOO wealthy.

JERSEY SHORE: THEY GOT WHAT THEY WANTED

Frankly, we are STAGGERED by the pay raises the Jersey Shore cast got for season 4. After considerable negotiation, all contracts have been renewed and, according to Eonline, the Jerseyites are getting a hundred thousand dollars each per episode! (Last season they took home $30,000 apiece.) Notoriously frugal MTV is forking over THAT much for their darlings to party and socialize in Florence, Italy. How lucky can you get? Of course, they do have to put up with Sammi and Ronnie’s inane bickering….

16 and Pregnant Abortion MTV

MTV’S “16 AND PREGNANT”- LET’S ABORT THE SERIES

MTV’s glamorization of defiantly ignorant pregnant teens on “16 and Pregnant” has been grating on our nerves ever since we heard teens were TRYING to get pregnant in hopes of becoming reality TV stars. Finally they’re trying to level the playing field by presenting a teen abortion. The episode features a pregnant teen who already has a year old baby, and her decision to abort. MTV is very nervous about offending pro-lifers (although they’ve been repulsing everybody else all along) so they scheduled the show called “No Easy Decision” to air at 11:30 at night. We’d rather see this series glorifying ingnorant fame whores aborted – off the air.

WHAT DO ASHTON KUTCHER AND JUSTIN BIEBER HAVE IN COMMON BESIDES HAIR?

So WHAT if Justin Bieber’s CSI episode failed in the ratings. He’s already got another deal with MTV as the new host of “Punk’d.” MTV has been eager to get Punk’d back on the air ever since Ashton Kutcher retired his 4 year old show in 2007. Ashton got tired of people panicking whenever they saw him, assuming they were part of a prank. Nobody trusted him. He’s back as executive producer and personally selected Justin to host- maybe because they have similar hair.

LADY GAGA TRIES HARDER AND SHE’S SPECTACULAR AT THE VMA AWARDS

Lady Gaga made her usual dazzling entrance at the VMA Awards decked out head to toe in a tribute to the late fabulous designer Alexander McQueen. He would have been proud. She’s one of the few celebrities with the courage to flaunt his designs. It’s difficult to imagine that Gaga – back when she was Stefani Germanotta- was a die-hard fan of –not Madonna– but BRITNEY SPEARS and aped her style! Her high school yearbook said that Stefani and Britney were “separated at birth.” The resemblance is long gone. Fortunately.

Contract Jersey Shore Money MTV Negotiation Pauly D Snooki The Situation

HOW MANY OF THE JERSEY SHORE ORIGINALS RETURN TO WORK, REMAINS TO BE SEEN

We’re not certain that the phrase “the cream is rising to the top” is appropriate in this case, but the most popular of the Jersey Shore gang are making out like bandits in their new contract negotiations. The whole gang refused to work on the show last weekend until they have signed contracts. MTV wants the incredibly successful show to continue into a 3rd season and they are arguing that if the stars are wealthy they won’t be so likeable or appealing. That doesn’t fly with the Jersey kids who want to cash in while they can. Snooki, The Situation, and Pauly D are the most popular of the group. (Note they are seated dead center in The View photo above) They are expected to at least triple their current $10,000 per episode salaries. Snooki and The Situation have already settled on deals they like and Pauly D will soon follow. If the “less important” members of the Jersey cast ask for too much, they might not be invited to return. And if there is a big difference in salaries, how will it affect their relationships? MTV has a lot to consider.

Attention seeking Christina Aguilera changed her clothes numerous times for the MTV Awards. She wore this rockabilly-punk look out to dinner at Soho House after the show with her husband. She seems to be making a determined effort NOT to look like her rivals Lady Gaga or Rihanna, the current reigning queens of pop. Christina learned the hard way that things don’t stay the same when you take four years off to spend time with your family. Her concert tour this summer was cancelled – most likely for lack of ticket sales – and no one’s too excited about her new album. But she still has that voice going for her. And a movie with Cher.
