Milan Fashion Week

GUCCI’S AMAZING TWIN SHOW

Gucci pulled off a show during Milan Fashion Week that topped them all – including Kim Kardashian’s collaboration with Dolce & Gabbana. The Gucci show featured 68 pairs of IDENTICAL TWINS! Gucci’s Creative Director Alessandro Michele lived up to his title when he sent representatives to check out the yearly twins convention in Twinsburg, Ohio. Around two thousand identical pairs of twins show up, along with triplets and other multiples, plus curious onlookers. The twins selected for the Gucci show must have been THRILLED. During the show the audience was divided into two separate rooms. Audience members did NOT know they were watching twins until the finale when the screen dividing the room was lifted and models came together and joined hands with their siblings. Brilliant! (which is more than I can say for these pink outfits)

SHARON STONE IS LIVING IT UP IN MILAN

Sharon Stone is a big deal in Milan this week and she’s enjoying every minute of it. Last August she was in Venice where she was photographed in numerous Dolce and Gabbana ensembles (mostly sexy black dresses) because she is the face for their new ad campaign. Her photos popped up everywhere for Fashion Week including the store window at D&G. She happily posed for photos in front of her huge poster in the window at the Milan store and caused quite a stir…

SHE’S TOO SEXY FOR HER SUIT

Milan Fashion Week just started again and we couldn’t help noticing this look on Italian model Vittoria Ceretti (she looks like the Italian version of Kendall Jenner) What’s interesting is that top she’s wearing with the baggy suit. Reminds us of a super-skimpy swimsuit. It’s a very original – and unexpected- way of showing flesh…

IS THIS THE FUTURE OF MEN’S FASHION?

Look what the pandemic and the devastating weather changes have done to the world of fashion! It’s a battle just staying alive these days and menswear designer Justin Gall (he’s new to us!) is ready to take on the challenges of the modern world. Gall’s collections have a dystopian theme – his clothes are described as protective gear for harsh times. In other words SURVIVAL. His show in Milan this week featured comfortable, functional fabrics made to LAST, with a slightly military feel. Some of the ensembles even have detachable arm and leg units. Gall, an American graphic artist, dyes and paints his own fabrics. (Kanye’s going to be jealous!) Gall’s collection is worth a look!

THE SUMMER 2022 LOOK FOR MEN

This outfit for MEN was featured at the Milan spring/Summer 2022 show this week and believe it or not, it’s FENDI! Usually, strange designs like this come from young up and coming fearless designers who want to be noticed and have nothing to lose. You can’t picture a customer actually buying it. But it’s Fendi! Can you imagine anyone having the courage to wear this? At least the model doesn’t have a beard…

DOLCE & GABBANA: HIGH HEELS ARE OPTIONAL

This is what Dolce & Gabbana hopes you will be wearing next winter – and it’s bound to cheer up anyone who sees you. Noteworthy: The designers in Milan this year loosened up when it came to pairing sneakers with evening gowns and high heels with workout wear – and it’s about time. Everyone knows you can have more FUN in sneakers and by next winter we should all be back to having fun. This colorful graffiti spray dress and jacket is more practical than it looks. It’s quite stretchy and the puffy jacket with leopard lining is cozy and warm, suitable for a festive occasion OR a ski outing.
