Hair Replacement

WHAT’S GOING ON WITH JUSTIN BIEBER?

Okay, we know that Justin Bieber has a new baby at home, AND that he’s been having health problems, so he canceled his tour – that might explain his recent moods and lack of sociability. But what is the explanation for his head coverings? We haven’t seen a photo of him without some sort of hat or odd head scarf for at least two years! (No matter what the occasion) The only public place he seems to go is to his church where he dresses in shorts and baseball caps. Since baseball caps and facial hair (two of our un-favorite things) can get old, he even experimented with a head-wrap/turban in the above car photo. We can’t help but think he is still struggling with hair transplants, and hope he finds some peace of mind…

MORRIS DAY: GOOD HAIR DAY OR BAD HAIR DAY?

Not sure why, but the Media Takeout website mercilessly mocked Morris Day’s toupee. You might be old enough to remember Morris Day – he was QUITE a character back when his pal Prince reigned supreme. He went to high school with Prince and became the lead singer of The Time. He also appeared in Purple Rain. The website gleefully described his hairpiece as a “lacefront, with every strand perfectly placed.” We don’t think it looks so obvious…

BRIAN AUSTIN GREEN: OFF WITH THE BASEBALL CAP!

We also have GUYS enhancing their looks and promoting their beauty- treatment doctors. Brian Austin Green, 49, had no qualms about revealing that he’s getting platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections from Dr Gabriel Chiu to stimulate his hair growth. (Has no one told Jada Pinkett-Smith about this?) The procedure is already used to help heal sports injuries and on the face where it’s called the “vampire facial.” Brian and his DWTS girlfriend Sharna Burgess recently had a baby boy – he’s put Megan Fox in the rear view mirror…

RODRIGO ALVES SEEKS PERFECTION FROM TOP TO BOTTOM

The “Human Ken Doll” Rodrigo Alves, 35, is looking happy because he just returned from Turkey where he got his fourth hair transplant in five years. He confessed that his thinning hair had made him depressed and he ate too much. Hair transplants in Turkey are a bargain – he paid $3800 for his blue tinted mane. Alves just arrived in Los Angeles where he plans to do more than just shop – he’s also having hormone replacement therapy (we assume testosterone) to solve other problems…

JOHN TRAVOLTA FINALLY CAME OUT OF THE CLOSET ABOUT HIS FAKE HAIR

What a relief! John Travolta, 64, has been dodgy about his hair loss for many years and it became a long-running joke. He must have a room full of hairpieces at home and a beautician on call to perfectly place them on his scalp. At the same time he endured plenty of teasing about his evolving “hairstyles.” He’s come a long way since he played the unforgettable pompadoured heartthrob Danny in Grease. When Travolta played Robert Shapiro in The People v. OJ Simpson, HE had far MORE hair than the real Shapiro did. Now the cat’s out of the bag, and we can all relax: John posted this photo of himself and daughter Ella, 18, over the holidays.

CAN THIS POSSIBLY BE RONNIE WOOD’S REAL HAIR?

How is it possible for a 71 year old man to have the full head of hair an 18 year old? We can find no evidence that Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood has had any hair augmentation! Last year Ronnie went in for his usual check-up before commencing the 2017 European tour with the Stones, and the doctor found a malignant lesion on his lung. Ronnie had a five hour surgery to remove the cancer but refused chemotherapy because he didn’t want to lose his hair! He smoked for over fifty years, but the lucky musician is so far cancer free and he’s the first to admit “I shouldn’t be here!” But he is. Ronnie is currently performing in the UK on the Stones current World Tour.

MICKEY ROURKE LETS HIS HAIR DOWN

Mickey Rourke’s looks never cease to fascinate. A few years back he started experimenting with hair extensions. We imagine his close friend and hairdresser Giuseppe Franco has fun dreaming up new hair augmentations for his actor buddy. Extensions can be difficult to conceal and Mickey often wore a knit cap. Maybe that’s why he moved on to wigs. And he has quite a collection of hair colors and styles in his wigs – salt and pepper, blonde highlights, and sometimes a bouffant style.

PLASTIC SURGERY UPDATE: MICHAEL JACKSON WAS FIRST WITH THE FACIAL HAIR TRANSPLANT

o-MICHAEL-JACKSON-T#184cut

It looks like Michael Jackson was a pioneer in a peculiar form of plastic surgery and now it’s caught on with all kinds of men! We’re talking about beard transplants! When he was younger and dreamed of looking like Diana Ross, Michael had electrolysis on his face to remove whiskers. Later in life, he yearned for that George Clooney “five o’clock shadow” and he actually had hair transplanted to his face. We were both shocked and revolted, but now the surgery has caught on among guys who want to fill in gaps and create designer stubble. Page Six says it’s all the rage among Brooklyn hipsters these days. Can beard weaves be far behind?

GORDON RAMSAY CAUGHT GETTING HAIR TRANSPLANTS

We’re not fans of Gordon Ramsay’s nasty disposition on “Hell’s Kitchen” so we were particularly amused when he was caught in the act of having hair transplants. He was photographed leaving a Beverly Hills hair augmentation clinic wearing peculiar headgear that included a surgical cap. Apparently he had plugs transplanted from the back of his neck to his slightly receding front hairline. We hear that he had a new minimally invasive procedure that costs around $30,000 but it heals in a week or so.
