Entourage

CLOSE CALLS FOR KEVIN CONNOLLY

Kevin Connolly, 47, is no longer the Entourage playboy he was a few years ago. In fact, he’s had a few close calls recently. Last year in the midst of the MeToo frenzy, he was accused of sexually assaulting a costume designer named Gracie Cox at a wrap party in 2005. The assault was investigated and appeared to be true, and Kevin was very lucky because Cox never filed a police report or pursued it further. In June, Kevin and his girlfriend, Colombian actress Zulay Henao, 42, (age appropriate!) had a baby daughter named Kennedy. When she was just six weeks old, Kennedy contracted Covid after Kevin had it (he WAS vaccinated) and the parents were terrified. Fortunately, Kennedy recovered and the family turned up this weekend at a party at Holiday Road – its a Christmas village and light show in Calabasas.

KEVIN CONNOLLY ‘S “ENTOURAGE” IS EXPANDING

Life goes on and the Entourage guys are actually growing up and settling down. Kevin Connolly, 46, played “E”- Vincent Chase’s best friend, and when the show ended he sought directing jobs. He got a few, but in 2018 he directed the gigantic flop Gotti with John Travolta which was a career disaster for both of them. Last year a costume designer accused Kevin of sexual assault at a wrap party. He insisted it was consensual. Now things seem to be looking up because Kevin’s girlfriend, Colombian actress Zulay Heneo, 41, is expecting their first child in a few months. Fun fact: Zulay and Kevin are the same height: 5’5.”

DID JOHN TRAVOLTA DERAIL KEVIN CONNOLLY’S CAREER?

Kevin Connolly has long aspired to have a directing career, and while filming Entourage he directed some music videos and eventually a few episodes of the series. When his series ended he went on to direct other TV shows and short films. Imagine his excitement when he landed his first job directing a feature film! Unfortunately, that movie happened to be John Travolta’s pet project Gotti. It was a GIGANTIC flop- Rotten Tomatoes gave it a ZERO rating! Poor Kevin has been struggling to find work ever since…

SOMEBODY STILL LOVES JEREMY PIVEN – HIS DOG!

Jeremy Piven knows that carrying a cute little dog can make anybody seem more appealing. The Mr Selfridge star (we loved that series!) has been having popularity problems. He was accused by a number of unrelated women of groping, inappropriate behavior, and sexual misconduct of all sorts. Jeremy became outraged and flatly declared that all charges were false and completely fabricated. He claimed all the women were opportunistic – seeking fame and money. Nobody was happy with THAT response, and coincidentally or not, his 2018 series Wisdom of the Crowd was canceled.

WHAT WENT WRONG WITH THE ENTOURAGE MOVIE

entourage-movie-castcut

We loved watching Entourage on TV and couldn’t wait to see the movie, despite negative reviews. What a letdown. The naïve wide-eyed young men who just arrived in Hollywood from Queens were gone. We could no longer identify with them because success had turned Vinnie and his pals into those self centered white men who celebrate excess and male privilege in Hollywood. Ego, money, and trophy women were all that mattered. Almost all the guys became as obnoxious as Ari Gold and HIS overacting was unbearable. The F word was in almost every line of dialogue – have never seen ANY movie with more F bombs. Even Jessica Alba awkwardly hurled several in her brief cameo. Jessica Alba! In fact EVERY guest star used the F word repeatedly. The guys we liked on TV had morphed into first class sexist jerks. Success has obviously gone to writer/director Doug Ellin’s head and he’s turned into a real life Ari Gold. It’s not pretty.
Afterthought: The movie’s opening credits were awesome and photography was exceptional.

ADRIAN GRENIER WITHOUT HIS ENTOURAGE

Adrian Grenier is in Miami working on his tan after finishing the Entourage movie, which is set for release next summer. When Adrian plays his passive but handsome character Vincent Chase, he always has a great haircut and cool clothes. Off-duty, Adrian is a lot more casual – often sloppy. The whole cast is back for the movie version of the TV series and we hear Jeremy Piven is better than ever as Ari Gold. Entourage and Sex & the City are two of our all-time favorite series, and we look forward to seeing these guys working Hollywood again. Click HERE to watch the Entourage trailer.

JEREMY PIVEN IS HAPPY TO BE A WORKING ACTOR

Jeremy Piven looks absolutely delighted with himself and he should be. He just finished filming the “Entourage” movie in which he reprises his role as the abrasive Ari Gold. (Actually they filmed some scenes in our LA neighborhood.) On the other hand, his mini-series “Mr Selfridge” is now being shown on PBS and the second season is as good as the first. He plays a whole different kind of character. We happen to LOVE the story of the creative American from Wisconsin who founded the London department store in 1909 and changed retailing forever. Can’t WAIT for Sunday night!

VINCE VAUGHN WANTS A “SWINGERS” REUNION MOVIE

Vince Vaughn and Jon Favreau popped up in the unexpected hit “Swingers” in 1996 and became stars overnight. Favreau wrote the script about five wannabe actors looking for love and partying in LA during the swing dance revival. One of our FAVORITE movies, it went on to inspire Mark Wahlberg to do “Entourage” as a TV series. In fact, the Vince character in Entourage was named after Vaughn! Having noted Wahlberg’s success, Vince has been pestering his buddy Jon Favreau to write a “Big Chill” style reunion for the five guys, now in their mid-forties, from the original movie. (They want Heather Graham back, too.) According to Radaronline, the only obstacle is that they insist on having the original director Doug Liman direct this movie, and he wants a ton of money.

ENTOURAGE MOVIE: THE WRENCH IN THE WORKS IS JEREMY PIVEN

We weren’t the least bit surprised to learn that Jeremy Piven was the cause of the salary stand-off that’s holding up the “Entourage” movie. He seems to be a lot like his scheming character Ari. However, there ARE extenuating circumstances, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Jeremy was originally the highest paid actor on the TV series and he did earn several Emmys. He was first to sign for the movie and got a lot more money than the others. The other guys want to be paid closer to what Jeremy is getting but the movie budget won’t allow it so they are disgruntled. They ARE expected to back down simply because everyone DOES want to get the movie made.
