SUZANNE SOMERS: THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES

RIP Suzanne Somers. We were shocked like the rest of the world to hear about Suzanne’s passing today. Despite her curated image as a ditzy blonde, Suzanne was anything but, in fact, she was a feminist and trailblazer for equal pay for women. Back in 1980 Suzanne was starring on Three’s Company banking $30,000 an episode while her male costar, John Ritter was pocketing $150,000. Suzanne fought for equal pay but the network REFUSED and she left the hit show. Fast forward a decade – when Suzanne starred on Step By Step – she successfully negotiated equal pay to her male costar, Patrick Duffy. Suzanne also made millions on home shopping – selling everything from her Thighmasters to nutritional supplements and beauty products…

  1. It’s always difficult to know when a star is being greedy or has legitimate gripes. Her agent should have negotiated a better deal for Three’s Company from the beginning because it was obvious from Season One she and John Ritter were the reason people watched the show. Joyce De Witt was NEVER funny. I am happy that Suzanne had such a loyal and loving husband all these years. He may not have made the best business decisions for her but you cannot put a price on love.

  2. She was a true gem. I waited on her years ago and she couldn’t have been nicer and a generous tipper. A class act.

  3. A lovely woman who remained married to her wonderful Canadian husband Alan Hamel for life. Such a rarity in Hollywood. R.i.p.

  4. suzanne somers and howard stern and robin quivers ruined everything
they should be ashamed of themeselves
