The late Rob Reiner’s life story is being turned into a Netflix movie and his best friend Billy Crystal is the brains behind the idea. The current working title is simply called Reiner and it will tell the story of Rob’s entire life: growing up as the son of comedy legend Carl Reiner, finding fame as Meathead on All in the Family , and then as a producer of countless hit movies. It’s still in the early stages , but there’s already talk that Rob’s son Jake will be one of the actors who portrays Rob, since his part will be played by actors of various ages.

I worked for Mr. Reiner for years, he was a brilliant & compassionate person. Michele was an absolute kick, sooo witty. Absolutely adored Rob’s Dad. Not quite sure how to feel about the project, seems a bit premature…but if Jake & Romy are down with it, good for everyone involved x

Why though? All anybody is interested in is his bloody ugly ending, in a “true crime” tv episode way. His life before that was not anything particularly exciting.

I’m disappointed with the first comment on this thread. Cruel and careless commentary about someone you don’t know.
This man and his wife had such a tragic ending, and then they left behind these kids who are struggling. You have to view this movie as a tribute, even though it seems too soon and somehow weirdly inappropriate.
