LONG TIME NO SEE: ENGELBERT HUMPERDINCK

We remember when Engelbert Humperdinck was a fixture in Las Vegas, and now that he’s 81, the Release Me singer is still appearing there as well as touring all the time! Incredibly, he’s been married to his wife Patricia since 1964, but she can no longer go on the road with him because she has Alzheimer’s. Engelbert recently released a new album The Man I Want to Be – dedicated to his wife. Occasionally his 9 year old granddaughter from Nashville appears onstage with Engelbert, and he’s convinced she will someday be a huge pop star.

RITA ORA MADE THE BATHROBE SAFE AGAIN

It was inevitable. Actress Rita Ora doesn’t bother to leave home unless there’s a strong possibility of being photographed, and when she stepped out in Manhattan wearing pajamas, the paparazzi ate it up. So she took it a step further and walked the red carpet at the MTV European Movie Awards in a terrycloth bathrobe and a towel wrapped on her head. You might call it the “morning after” look – it’s from designer Palomo Spain’s gender neutral collection. Oh, and Rita accessorized her robe with eight million dollars worth of jewelry…

TARAJI P HENSON KNOWS WHAT MEN WANT

Hidden Figures star Taraji P Henson has impeccable timing – she’s producing her own next movie and it’s a remake of the 2000 Nancy Meyers comedy What Women Want, that starred Mel Gibson as an obnoxious, entitled guy who could read women’s minds and took full advantage. In the new version, What Men Want, Taraji will play a female sports agent struggling in a man’s world. When she gets the power to read men’s thoughts she easily manages to sign the next NBA superstar and outsmarts the men. What could be more timely in this tumultuous new era of females finally speaking out?

LOOK WHO’S TALKING: KIRSTIE ALLEY SAYS PSYCHIATRIC DRUGS CAUSED VEGAS MASSACRE

If only Kirstie Alley would wise up about Scientology like Leah Remini did. We really want to like Kirstie. The Scream Queens actress certainly didn’t make any friends when she started tweeting after the Las Vegas massacre that psychiatric drugs – not necessarily guns – caused the whole thing to happen. She pointed out that violence and suicide are common side effects of anti-anxiety drugs. Of course Scientologists have an inexplicable hatred of psychiatrists and the drugs they prescribe, and blame them for many of the world’s problems. Sadly, Kirstie’s tweets reveal that she is still a slave to Scientology and might never change. She did get a powerful backlash to her remarks and dropped the subject for now.

ONE WAY OR ANOTHER BLONDIE STILL RULES

After all these years, Debbie Harry is not only instantly recognizable but touring in the UK with sold out concerts. During her shows she always brings up her current obsession: bees. She’s concerned about the environment and the dying bee population. Her latest album is appropriately titled “Pollinator.” She and guitarist Chris Stein are still best friends through thick and thin, but not longer romantic. They’ve been touring together as Blondie since they reunited twenty years ago. Debbie says if she decides to retire she’ll can sell the portrait that Andy Warhol did of her and never worry about money again.

THE DISASTER ARTIST: TRUTH IS FUNNIER THAN FICTION

Usually we recommend to filmgoers that they avoid reading too much about a movie before seeing it because it spoils the element of surprise. But “The Disaster Artist” is the exact opposite – read all you can about it ahead of time and it will be even FUNNIER. James Franco directed and stars and he does a bang-up job for a change. It’s about a very peculiar and eccentric aspiring filmmaker who happens to have enough money to make his own feature film and proceeds to do so without any experience. The resulting film is called “The Room” and has been described as one of the worst movies ever made and a cult classic. Knowing this twisted story is true makes it extremely entertaining.

IS COREY FELDMAN A MENTAL CASE OR A SCAM ARTIST?

It seems like Corey Feldman, 44, has been talking about the unnamed pedophiles he encountered as a child actor for YEARS. Recently he announced that he’s trying to raise ten million dollars to make a movie about his childhood as an actor and victim and promises to name those names. How crazy is THAT? Hasn’t he noticed that people are naming names all over the place these days and they’re not asking for ten million dollars? He should have named names and led the pack instead being coy and holding out. Now it’s too late – Corey Haim’s mother thinks he’s pulling a fast one because he needs the money, and we agree…

KESHA: WORST DRESSED YET AGAIN

It’s nice that Kesha is obviously a fan of Patsy Cline and she’s knocking off Patsy’s gorgeous gabardine cowgirl suits designed by Nudie the legendary rodeo tailor. However, Kesha’s updated versions leave a LOT to be desired. Kesha admits SHE designed this ill-fitting shiny pink suit with the tattoo-like patches. The black bra poking out doesn’t help one bit. And we’re not even going to mention those hair extensions. Fortunately, Kesha’s music skills far exceed her design ability and her career is flourishing.

WHAT HOLLYWOOD LAWYERS DO TO WOMEN IS APPALLING

The Hollywood Reporter is doing a brilliant job of tracking all the recent crimes against women in Hollywood and this week they took a look at the corrupt Hollywood lawyers. The late Garry Shandling’s ex-girlfriend Linda Doucette revealed her horrific experiences with powerful lawyers when she and Garry split. After living together for seven years, Linda says she left Garry because she wanted a baby and he did not. At the time she had a role on his series and she told Garry she didn’t want anything financial from him – she just wanted to keep her role on the show. He agreed. What Gary’s powerful lawyers put her through was a NIGHTMARE (Robert Shapiro even tried to kiss her!) after she was promptly FIRED from the show.
