Jeff Goldblum posted this photo of himself as a teenager at a pool and it reminded me of many smart but slightly nerdy guys that sat next to me in high school who were very likable, but didn’t have that “edge.” Many turned out to be as successful as Jeff. I met Jeff in Hollywood in the 70’s right after he finished his first film, Death Wish, in which he played a leather jacketed bad boy . He asked me out on a date and I was unpleasantly surprised when he turned up wearing a big African dashiki shirt. Very hippieish. I was hoping for that “bad boy” in a leather jacket. (Shows how superficial I was at the time.) We weren’t compatible, but he was fun. Since then he has become quite a snappy dresser…
