Here’s a blast from the past. SOME of you might remember the 80’s when Michael Pare was one of the hottest actors alive, thanks to his first films, Eddie and the Cruisers and Streets of Fire. Many people thought he was on his way to become the biggest leading man in Hollywood- he was drop-dead gorgeous. Just goes to show – you cannot predict the future. Yes, Michael has been acting steadily SINCE his spectacular debut – in fact he’s made hundreds of films and TV series – mostly not-so-well known, with titles like Pig Killer and They Crawl Beneath. He often plays a detective nowadays. Anyway, we haven’t seen him for years and he turned up at a recent Hollywood event looking healthy and happy…

Wow that went over everyone’s heads
Hi, Janet! Back in the ’80s when Pare was the new hot young thing, I interviewed him about his new movie “Eddie and the Cruisers” at a round robin press event. He was shy and nice but not fully formed as a person… seemed he had fallen into acting, having graduated from the famed Culinary Institute of America in New York. After those first few films, rumor is that Pare fell hard and deep into drugs. Good to see that he looks happy and sober. 🙂
