Now, as regards the day’s legal proceedings with Jussie Smollett: he is proving to be the worst brand of liar, the PATHOLOGICAL kind.
He returned to the Empire set after felony arraignment, declaring to his beleaguered co-workers: “I swear to God, I did not do this!”
Yes. He’s doubling-down on his dishonesty, just as Winona Ryder infamously did–right up until the very moment of her conviction for felony grand theft.
Interestingly, Smollett has retained Mark Geragos to assist his other high-priced lawyers, just as Ryder once did.
Unfortunately with the EVIDENCE being so damning, the Smollett team will do little more than hold his hand, rub his back, and make outrageously inflammatory statements to the press–all the while negotiating a deal behind the scenes for a plea.
The big question: How long will Empire and FOX stand behind Smollett before cutting him loose?
Sorry: today’s process was the bond hearing; formal arraignment is scheduled for next month.
