Oscar loser Timothee Chalamet turned down the chance to star in a skit in the opening monologue wearing – what else- a TUTU! The Marty Supreme Best Actor nominee caught a lot of flak for an interview where he claimed no one cared about ballet or opera anymore and the Oscar producers thought it would be hilarious, and a light hearted moment, for Timothee to open the show dressed as a ballerina! Timothee apparently didn’t like the idea and passed on the opportunity.
Oscar winner Paul Thomas Anderson NEGLECTED to thank his wife, Maya Rudolph, not once but TWICE, since he won awards for directing and best movie. My source backstage says Paul was beyond mortified when asked in the press room why he didn’t thank his wife in his acceptance speeches and vowed to make it up to her. He hinted backstage he’s taking out an ad in the Hollywood trades thanking her and apologizing for the faux pas.
Security was extra tight this year due to the ongoing wars around the world and my source reports that even celebrities had their handbags checked. We won’t tell you who, but the backstage gossip was what starlet was toting more than a few Adderall in her bag! For those living under a rock, Adderall is basically legal speed prescribed for ADHD but abused by many for energy and appetite suppression, which explains why our actress is so thin.
The In Memoriam segment was especially poignant this year with tributes to Rob Reiner, Robert Redford and Diane Keaton. They even got Barbra Streisand to sing a few bars from The Way We Were. What didn’t happen though, was a plan for two of Rob Reiner’s kids to join Billy Crystal in introducing the segment. Apparently the producers behind the ceremony nixed that idea since Rob’s son Nick is standing trial for his murder and the producers didn’t want to make a sad moment even sadder.
The stage was very subtle and toned down this year we we can tell you why. Weeks and weeks ago the original stage was supposed to be glitzy and over the top glamour, but once the war in the Middle East started, producers read the room and toned down the glamour. They replaced the glitz with Japanese Maple trees which stand for peace and harmony

First Speech (Adapted Screenplay): Anderson thanked Thomas Pynchon (author of the source novel Vineland), his wife Maya Rudolph, and dedicated the win to his children, mentioning he wrote the film as an apology for the world they are inheriting, as reported by The Guardian and Deadline

Last time PTA won an award he forgot to thank Maya and his kids, which is why the first thing out of his mouth this win was to praise them to the sky. How did you miss that?

Timothee’s star looked so tarnished because of his girlfriend, the plasticised blow up doll Kylie. His publicist needs to give his/her/nonbinary head a shake.
