We’ve been watching Sex and the City and its spinoff,  And Just Like That, for 27 years and during that time we’ve had some good scoops on both series.  Our well placed source was SWORN to secrecy about AJLT coming to an end after the current season, but now that the secret is out, they’re dishing the dirt.  So please enjoy this bonus post of Here’s What We Know:

Since the majority of the cast and crew were kept in secrecy about the series coming to an end, multiple endings were actually shot under the guise that some of the scenes would be used next season.  We can tell you that there’s a strong possibility that Sarah Jessica Parker’s character, Carrie leaves New York in the series finale and relocates to London to explore a relationship with Jonathan Cake’s character, Duncan Reeves. Sarah filmed some scenes in London and while our source is kept in the dark about the final edit, her moving away from NYC is a strong possibility.

We also know that most of the cast and crew were SHOCKED by the announcement that the series was ending,  ESPECIALLY since HBO MAX had all but green-lit season 4 and 5 – it was consistently one of the top rated series on the streaming platform. In fact, negotiations were ongoing about continuing the series for at least two more seasons, so my source isn’t necessarily buying the spin that HBO MAX and the producers planned to end the series this year.

There’s also a chance though that a spinoff based on Nicole Ari Parker’s character, Lisa, and her onscreen family could be in the works.   Nicole’s rich mom character proved  quite popular with viewers and talks are secretly underway to see if a spinoff is feasible.  Nothing has been decided yet but this could be a way to have the main characters pop in from time to time while focusing on Nicole’s new life in Los Angeles, where she would relocate to continue her film career.  In fact, we heard her character might move to LA in the finale, which would pave the way for a spinoff.

Finally, don’t be surprised if the series comes back in a movie version, following in the footsteps of Sex and The City which had two movies after it ended.  This time around, however, the movie wouldn’t play at your local cineplex, instead it would stream on HBO MAX,  My source insists that this is VERY likely since it would likely draw huge ratings and remove the cost and pressure of filming 10 or more episodes per season.  The idea is – they could film a movie in a month and keep their loyal fan base happy.
