The Hollywood Reporter calmly announced that 80 year old Harrison Ford has been “de-aged” in his upcoming Indiana Jones sequel and will appear as a 40 year old fighting Nazis in the 1940’s, in the beginning of the film! Director James Mangold created the illusion using old footage as well as the actor’s original jacket. Even Ford is amazed by the result- he says “It’s spooky, but it works.” As this de-aging technology evolves, (and it WILL) we wonder how it will affect Hollywood in the future. Will popular movie actors like Tom Cruise or Chris Hemsworth have MUCH longer careers if they continue to look young? Will sexy female stars have a later expiration date?
