Hollywood is rocked by the passing of Eric Dane, the 53-year-old star who went public with his ALS diagnosis less than one year ago. Here’s what we know. Eric deteriorated quickly and was bedridden and only able to communicate using his eyes and a vision detection keyboard screen. He never lost his sense of humor though, and would use the screen to type our F### YOU when his buddies would visit. While the details are scarce, we suspect that this was a right to die situation. (We have no proof) This is just based on what we’ve heard. Eric was planning to go to Mexico for some alternative treatment, but he went downhill so fast that he was unable to make the journey, even on a private jet. To say his inner circle is filled with mixed emotion would be an understatement – on one hand they are heartbroken at his passing, but on the other hand, relieved he’s no longer living in such a horrible condition. We never heard a bad word about Eric – even when he was in the throes of addiction, he was always polite and fun to be around. It’s a sad day for Hollywood.
