He’s on his way to the courthouse for the first day of his sexual assault trial,  but Gerard Depardieu doesn’t look terribly worried. Maybe that’s because he’s been accused of sexual assault and rape numerous times in the past, and nothing came of it. The male dominated French cinema has so far wanted nothing to do with the “Me Too” era and they prefer to turn a blind eye and dismiss accusations against successful actors and filmmakers. According to the New York Times, even President Emmanuel Macron defends Depardieu, and calls charges against him a “manhunt.”  Two cases against Depardieu are in court this week for the first time,  and we shall soon see if  he can continue to get away with it…
