DO CELEBRITIES VOLUNTEER AT THE LA MISSION SIMPLY FOR THE GOOD PUBLICITY?

It’s a tradition. Every year at holiday time, celebrities turn up at the Los Angeles Mission downtown to dish out Christmas dinner for families on skid row. This year Emmy Rossum, Harry Hamlin, Lisa Rinna, and Garcelle Beauvais were among the famous volunteers. We can’t help but wonder if they would actually show up if there were no cameras. (What’s your opinion?) Harrison Ford’s chef son Ben (Ford’s Filling Station) was there cooking, so he was too busy to pose for many photos.

  1. Some celebrities indulge in charitable work for sheer publicity. However there are other reasons that they do it too.

1.) To see if there are any down-on-their-luck celebrities or former celebrities that they can run into & gloat & finger point.

    2. Some of the celebrities are so darn cheap that they go to get publicity and to get a free meal. I wouldn’t be surprised if some of them brought their Tupperware containers to sneak food back home to their mansions.

3.) Some probably go to pick up a quickie & trade a few disposable phone numbers for any decent looking homeless males or females.

4.) Some volunteer there because they can’t stand celebrating with their own selfish, drugged up family.

  2. Since we don’t know any of them I’d have to say who knows. The only ones I would guarantee doing it for show are the Kardashians.

Merry Christmas to all of you, thanks for another year of snark and laughter.

  3. Most of them do it for publicity, lets get real. What they wouldnt do for that?

  4. im ok with these people doing charitable works for publicity, these charitable causes need all the assistance they can get wherever they can.

and the charities also profit from the publicity generated by the celebs.

  5. The woman in the red shirt is looking at the woman in the Santa hat and thinking “what the heck is wrong with her lips”

  6. “Publicity” is their middle name, although a few celebs do have a heart for the needy. Mostly I think they want to be seen. How to seperate the “P” hounds for the read-deal is nearly impossible.
