COURTNEY LOVE ISN’T AS NASTY AS SHE USED TO BE

The Nasty Gal store on Melrose had a special opening to promote their new Courtney Love Collection, and the Mistress of Grunge herself turned up for the event. Courtney says that special items she has worn during her career were pulled from her closet as inspiration for the rock n’ roll collection. Her garments are affordable ($48 to $188) but not as disturbing as one would hope. Rather tame, actually. There are baby doll dresses, tutus and lots of black lace and mesh but not much grunge. No cigarette holes or bloodstains… Click HERE to see the collection.

  1. She almost looks like a perfect morph between Britney Spears and McDonna in the topmost pic.

And speaking of Madge, isn’t it ironic that Courtney could–with the right lighting–pass for a woman decades younger, even though she and M. are only a few years apart?

No mean feat, considering that Courtney started out with seriously jacked-up teeth, and a prizefighter/jewess nose.

To her credit, she’s pulled things together very well; and she’s always had a distinctive style: recall that white gown she wore to the Academy Awards, circa 1997–that looked like it had been strategically blasted from her body. She was stunning.

  2. Why do people who know this woman like her?

Are they afraid of ending up with a shotgun in their mouths?
