The National Enquirer

THE NATIONAL ENQUIRER HAS MANY UNTOLD STORIES

Who doesn’t LOVE tabloid journalism? In its heyday, The National Enquirer sold over five million issues a week, and a lot of the readers were Hollywood celebrities! A movie about Generoso Pope, the man who founded the Enquirer, is in the works but we’d rather see an expose on the secret files of the Enquirer. We worked on the gossip column at the Enquirer back in the 80’s and reporters whispered about secret locked files with very damaging info about Hollywood’s biggest stars. These stars cooperated and did interviews for the Enquirer in exchange for the stories NOT being used. Just a few years ago, current owner David Pecker was charged with buying salacious stories about Donald Trump and killing them for his buddy. He also helped Harvey Weinstein by providing info to smear the women accusing him. Needless to say, we were never fond of Pecker -he was only interested in money and power, and had no appreciation for the joys of tabloid journalism. Today The Enquirer is sadly fading away – they should have established a powerful online presence years ago. What will happen to those secret files?

THE NATIONAL ENQUIRER GOT IT RIGHT AGAIN

We were SO delighted to learn that The National Enquirer was responsible for exposing the Roger Stone sex scandal in the mid 90’s when he was top advisor for Bob Dole’s campaign. Ironically, Dole was lamenting the “moral crisis in America.” Stone was fired after the lurid story about him and his wife advertising in swingers magazines for threesomes (with MEN!) calling themselves a “hot former model and her bodybuilder husband.” Those were the good old days – this scoop couldn’t happen today because the NE publisher, David Pecker, protects Donald Trump and his friends…

ONCE UPON A TIME, THE NATIONAL ENQUIRER LOVED CATCHING POLITICIANS UP TO NO GOOD

In The Front Runner, Hugh Jackman nails the role of the idealistic presidential hopeful Gary Hart, who, in 1987, had droves of devoted youthful supporters and was predicted to win the 1988 election. Hart was outraged when reporters sniffed out a potential scandal and started digging into his private life. They found evidence of cheating with a young woman from Miami, Donna Rice. Before this, politicians had been “protected” – newspaper editors avoided scandal. But more women in the newsrooms and technology changed that old boys club.
Hart arrogantly refused to answer questions about adultery and fearing the worst, he dropped out of running. Here’s where the movie was a huge disappointment: People were a bit unsure about his guilt UNTIL The National Enquirer published the famous cover photo above. THAT ended Hart’s career, but there was NO mention in the film! The tabloid should get credit for this public service! Too bad The Enquirer is not interested in personal accountability for politicians TODAY…

RICHARD SIMMONS: CALL IT A DAY AND FIRE YOUR LAWYERS!

Richard Simmons is going to waste a whole lot of money on legal fees if he continues to pursue his lawsuit against The National Enquirer. A judge has already declared he doesn’t have a case because claiming he was transitioning into a woman is not career or character damaging. The magazine has an abundance of photos of Richard dressed up in drag from head to toe. (It’s rumored that a former assistant provided some of them) Keep in mind, The National Enquirer has excellent lawyers who fanatically examine every story before it’s published, so they seldom lose a lawsuit. Our advice to Richard: Save your money!

WHY DONALD TRUMP LOVES THE NATIONAL ENQUIRER AND IT LOVES HIM BACK!

The Russians weren’t the only ones scheming to manipulate presidential campaign results and put Donald Trump in office. Trump’s close buddy David Pecker, CEO of American Media, who owns National Enquirer, did his VERY BEST to get his pal elected. Our former boss! (Pecker flies to Florida on Trump’s jet.) We were particularly appalled by this deviously photoshopped cover of Hillary Clinton with a frightening list of unsubstantiated medical issues indicating she was at death’s door! This was printed not long after Donald Trump declared her physically unfit for the job of President. During the primaries, the Enquirer lambasted Trump’s opponents Ted Cruz with claims of extramarital cheating, they targeted Jeb Bush for doing cocaine in the ‘80s, and accused Ben Carson of crippling surgical patients for life! Trump was very conspicuously spared of ANY negative press. The Enquirer claims their stories (lies?) during the election, upped circulation by 12%. Consider yourself warned: Our President is in bed with The National Enquirer!
