KANYE WEST HAS A FASHION STRATEGY

You’ve probably seen photos from Kanye West’s 46th birthday party, where the problematic rapper appeared wearing exaggerated shoulder pads. Our source told us that this is less of a fashion statement and more of a way to distract from the weight he gained since splitting with Kim Kardashian. Although Kanye has always had a penchant for wearing black, these days the slenderizing color isn’t only the only staple his wardrobe. Kanye has recently had shoulder pads sewn on his clothes to appear broader at the shoulders and leaner at his waist. And that’s not ALL. Our source adds he’s started wearing Spanx for men, which is ironic since Kim fronts her own line called Skims.

Lady Gaga’s elaborate concerts have raised the stakes for her competition and Rihanna is more than up for the challenge. Rihanna’s gigantic inflated shoulderpads eclipse Gaga’s huge shoulders as the singers compete for the most outrageous fashion. Rihanna took a month off from her “Last Girl on Earth” world tour and returned to the stage in Vancouver with new looks. Her stage design with moving platforms and elaborate props is described as staggering, and she has MORE costume changes than Gaga! So there.

“Take THAT Posh Spice!” is what Lady Gaga seems to be saying with this outlandishly shoulderpadded black suit. Victoria Beckham was first to rock the exaggerated pagoda shoulder look, but now Gaga has outdone her by a mile. HER shoulders are so big they look like the back of an easy chair. Lady Gaga loves the outfit so much she’s already worn it TWICE – while signing CD’s for fans at Best Buy and on the Jay Leno show. We love her sense of humor.

Victoria Beckham is photographed in an outfit, she rarely picks it up again, but recently she was noted wearing the same jacket THREE times in same week. It’s a $4500 Balmain black leather jacket with pagoda style shoulders. Yes, the eighties are back! Extreme shoulderpads were the style for both men and women in the eighties. (Prince even had shoulderpads in his pajamas!) Victoria’s tight little jacket looks like she forgot to remove the hangar!
