GORDON RAMSAY AND HIS DAUGHTER MATILDA HAVE MUCH IN COMMON

Chef Gordon Ramsay is rockin’ some serious hair here – he and his daughter Matilda, 15, are on their way to Soho House in Malibu. Matilda resembles her dad, but she still manages to be cute. And she’s a second generation COOK. She’s only 15, but Matilda has her own cooking show aimed at teens on the BBC called Matilda and the Ramsay Bunch – her three siblings appear on the show also.

GORDON RAMSAY DOESN’T ALWAYS GET IT RIGHT

Gordon Ramsay was photographed with his cute daughter Mathilda in London. (We wonder if she’s inherited his penchant for profanity.) His family life has been less disruptive than his restaurants – he’s been married to his wife Tana since 1996 and they have four kids total. Meanwhile the restaurant he opened at The Grove here in Los Angeles was a miserable failure. Perhaps it SOUNDED like a good idea to name it The Fat Pig, but it repelled a lot of people. (Us included.) The food was described as unappetizing and overpriced ($28 for a cheeseburger at a mall?) It closed after a year and a half and the landlord sued Ramsay for $6 million, and his business partner sued him too. He even got sued by another restaurant with the same name.

GORDON RAMSAY MIGHT PACK UP HIS KNIVES AND MOVE TO MALIBU

Who would have guessed that a chef could become as successful and wealthy as a movie star? Gordon Ramsay can apparently do no wrong and he’s up there in the financial stratosphere with the likes of Dustin Hoffman and Goldie Hawn. This weekend Gordon looked at a 20 million dollar beachfront home in Malibu that he’s thinking of buying, and those actors would be his neighbors. He’s pictured above with his son Jack, who looks more like his dad every day.

NOT A BAD NIGHT AT HELL’S KITCHEN

#hellskitchen #janetcharlton

We just got back from having dinner at Hell’s Kitchen! We were warned NOT to arrive hungry because sometimes the food is a long time coming (or not at all!) The fancy restaurant set is located in the industrial district of Culver City, and we were not allowed to take any photos and had to turn in our cell phones. Only some Green Bay Packer and his wife were allowed to take, but not use their cell phones. Everyone had to sign two page confidentiality agreement and a release. We were seated in a large beautifully designed room with white tablecloths and HK candles and ordered from a small menu with only 4 choices of main dishes. One end of the room featured a bar and the other side had the two open kitchens used by the blue team and the red team. We could see the two teams fussing over their food and red-faced Gordon Ramsay gesticulating over them but we could NOT hear Gordon cursing. At one point smoke filled the red kitchen. Since it was a later episode of the series (for 2013) and the chefs were more experienced, almost everyone got their food. It wasn’t great (mushy scallops and dry halibut – and NO vegetables!) but the waiters and staffers were helpful and personable. Lots of wine and chocolaty desserts made it a fun evening. The only unrealistic thing about the restaurant was the fact that no one had a cell phone!

THE DAY BOSSY CHEF GORDON RAMSAY MET HIS MATCH

We had to snicker when we heard that Gordon Ramsay became furious when he and Victoria Beckham had lunch at Gjelina restaurant in Venice and they refused to change her order to suit her. Victoria ordered smoked trout salad but asked for it with dressing on the side. The waiter explained they have a strict policy of “no changes or substitutions” clearly stated on the menu. (We can imagine apoplectic Ramsay sputtering “Do you know who we ARE?”) Ramsay could NOT get his way, and the salad was served dressed. Later a restaurant spokesperson said: “It’s that sense of entitlement – it has to stop. We have a policy and don’t make substitutions. It doesn’t matter if you are famous or you have allergies. Gordon Ramsay should know better.”

GORDON RAMSAY CAUGHT GETTING HAIR TRANSPLANTS

We’re not fans of Gordon Ramsay’s nasty disposition on “Hell’s Kitchen” so we were particularly amused when he was caught in the act of having hair transplants. He was photographed leaving a Beverly Hills hair augmentation clinic wearing peculiar headgear that included a surgical cap. Apparently he had plugs transplanted from the back of his neck to his slightly receding front hairline. We hear that he had a new minimally invasive procedure that costs around $30,000 but it heals in a week or so.

GORDON RAMSAY’S WIFE COULD STAND THE HEAT

Gordon Ramsay’s family looks like the picture of happiness (above at the Teen Choice Awards) but it wasn’t too long ago that his pretty wife Tana found out he had been cheating with another woman for seven years. It was luridly publicized in the London papers and very embarrassing for all concerned. Somehow, the temperamental chef managed to keep his family together and one would never guess what they’ve been through. He must be doing something right.

GORDON RAMSAY CRACKS A SMILE IN ST TROPEZ

Chef Gordon Ramsay doesn’t seem to smile EVER on Hell’s Kitchen – now in it’s 7th season. (Can you believe it?) For some reason nothing funny ever happens on that show. But Gordon did show his lighter side while vacationing in St Tropez with his wife Tana. They were walking on the beach by their hotel when they spotted a nude swimmer. Even Gordon couldn’t hold back a grin.
