MARK SALLING: AND SO IT BEGINS….

He still has swagger and confidence, but former Glee star Mark Salling, 33, just walked out of the bank with a $100,000 check that will probably keep him out of jail for awhile on bail. He was indicted for the unimaginable offense of receiving and possessing child pornography online and is expected to appear in court Friday. After he left the bank, Salling went straight to his lawyer’s office, where he will probably be writing even BIGGER checks. If he’s found guilty he could get a minimum of 5 years and maximum of 20. Whatever happens, his promising career is over and he’ll be broke. It’s almost too sick to think about…

LEA MICHELE: STOP TALKING ABOUT YOUR HEARTBREAK

Lea Michele doesn’t have a lot to celebrate these days. Her debut CD “Louder” bombed and her TV series “Glee” took a ratings dive. “The >Voice” trounced Lea’s show – it had 14 million viewers and “Glee” pulled in 2 million. Maybe we weren’t the only ones who felt Lea was blatantly boo-hooing and cashing in on the death of her boyfriend Cory Monteith by doing far too many interviews on the subject. But she DOES have a powerful voice, and her future is on Broadway.

WILL THE CORY MONTEITH MEMORIALS AND TRIBUTES NEVER END?

It’s amazing how “Glee’s” publicity people have been cashing in on the tragic death of Cory Monteith. Since the 31 year old actor died from a heroin and alcohol overdose on July 13, the show has been churning out what seems like daily press releases about the other cast members,’ including his girlfriend Lea Michelle’s, devastation and remarks. Memorials and tributes to Monteith popped up everywhere. Glee’s episode dedicated to Cory had tremendous build-up and the cast recorded six songs in his memory. That’s nice, but ENOUGH ALREADY! Cory didn’t die trying to save a child from a fire, he OVERDOSED. It was a stupid, selfish thing to do. Does he really rate a pedestal?

THE EMMY PEOPLE ARE WRONG – JACK KLUGMAN’S SON IS RIGHT

Jack Klugman’s son is absolutely right. Adam Klugman told The Hollywood Reporter that he is outraged because his father (who died this year at age 90) is not included in the special memorial tribute on Sunday’s Emmy show. The academy is featuring five special memorial salutes this year and Cory Monteith of Glee is among them, but not Klugman. Jack Klugman was a TV pioneer who spent five decades in our living rooms. He won 3 Emmys and sorry, but The Odd Couple trumps Glee any day. Adam says the Emmy organizers are touting Monteith to draw younger viewers. He’s right. It’s a cheap maneuver.

GLEE’S LAUREN POTTER DOESN’T LOOK OLD ENOUGH TO DRINK – BUT SHE IS, AND SHE DOES

People with intellectual disabilities are making huge strides on TV- and one is even becoming a prima donna! Lauren Potter, 23, who plays Becky Jackson on “Glee,” has Down syndrome but that doesn’t stop her from being pushy and unpleasant on the set. More than one castmember says she is the LEAST likeable of all the actors – she can be selfish and downright rude. At one point she told producers she wanted a cute boyfriend – Cory Monteith – on the show, and sulked when she didn’t get her way. On a recent airline flight the youthful looking Lauren was heard yelling at a female flight attendant “I’m 23 f****** years old and I want a drink NOW!! After she got her beverage, our source says she flirted with male passengers and stewards.

CORY MONTEITH: GOING BACK TO VANCOUVER WAS HIS FIRST MISTAKE

Glee’s Cory Monteith was probably the last person we’d expect to die of a heroin/alcohol overdose. He had that sweet boyish face and not a bad reputation, in spite of rehab visits. His drug buddies were apparently all in Vancouver. You can’t judge a book by its cover. How his girlfriend of several years, Lea Michele handled his secret addictions is a mystery. Another mystery is how quickly Canadian doctors were able to get the autopsy results- just a few days. When an American celebrity dies it takes at least a month to find out the cause.

Riverdale is truly moving into the 21st century. We grew up reading about Archie, Betty, and Veronica, and now they are all embracing the cast from Glee in an upcoming issue. Publishers of the beloved comic want their characters to remain the same through the years but they want Riverdale to move into modern times. A writer from Glee is contributing to the story. Glee cast members Sue, Puck, Brittany, Finn, Rachel and Kurt are featured on the collectible comic cover, which will be on the stands February 27th.

JANE LYNCH AND FAMILY EDUCATE THEMSELVES AT THE GROVE

Glee star Jane Lynch and her spouse Dr Lara Embry brought Lara’s two children to the Grove Monday for some shopping and a movie. While they waited for their car, the younger daughter read them quotes from the book “Weird But True: 300 Outrageous Facts” (It’s a National Geographic publication that reveals facts like “A bat can eat 300 insects in one night”) – the women reacted accordingly.

“GLEE’S” CORY MONTEITH IS PAYING THE PRICE FOR OVERINDULGENCE

Looks like SOMEBODY pigged out over the holidays. “Glee” football stud Cory Monteith was seen sweating profusely under the tutelage of a tough-as-nails trainer at Gold’s Gym in Hollywood. An observer remarked that Cory looked like he’d been “inflated.” The new larger version of Cory probably didn’t agree with the show’s producers when he reported back to work, and they ordered him to shape up. He was seen doing a punishing series of jumping jacks and pushups to hasten the process.
