We never imagined we’d be seeing Billy Idol singing “White Christmas” wearing a suit and tie, but here it is. And we love it. He doesn’t even need the black leather, does he? This song is from Billy’s 2006 album Happy Holidays (A Very Special Christmas Album.) Stephen Saban at The WOW Report dug up this video and it brings back all kinds of warm Billy Idol memories… Where has he BEEN?

I suspect the smirk was because the “snow” he’s dreaming of isn’t the kind that falls from the sky. Although he’s now clean…a guy can still dream I guess.

I’ve always liked him and his “White Wedding” is a cool fave of mine. I never dug the lip snarl, but love his voice and personality and wish he’d come back strong with more of the same type stuff he did. Us oldsters still dig getting out on the floor and trying to break a hip or two dancing the night away! Also “Blondie” and “The Cars” from that era, and “Boomtown Rats” (look it up) who wrote some of the coolest lyrics including a song called “I Don’t Like Mondays” about a true story of a girl who brought a gun to school and shot a bunch of the kids. When they asked her why she did it she said “I don’t like mondays.” It’s an incredibly moving song.
