One of the judges at the WORLD’S UGLIEST DOG contest in Santa Rosa, California, turned out to be none other than Jon Provost. Jon played cute little Timmy in the beloved Lassie series from 1957 to 1964. Personally, we think the world’s Ugliest Dog contest is in bad taste (can you imagine a World’s Ugliest Man contest?) and should be changed to a contest for the Cutest Mutt or Mixed Breed dog…

The dogs in Lassie were starved and often beaten to make them “perform” on the show.
This was common in the 50’s and 60’s. Women were not treated well either.
