The Hollywood Reporter says both fans and critics will find what they’re looking for on Sarah’s show. The Palin’s popularity continues to astonish us.

At some point, you need to understand that the majority of the country does not think like you. You may believe that you are the enlightened ones, but you are outside the majority of the country.
That doesn’t mean one side is right and the other wrong. Just because you and everyone you know may hate on her, she is not universally hated.
Jack, you’ve lost the plot with this one. If you followed JCH during the run-up to the 2008 election, you’d already know that she has indicated admiration for Palin.
Point 2: Five (alleged) million viewers on cable does not a country make.
Perhaps that viewership was comprised of people who were simply sick to death of that woman with 8 kids and her 3-car-vagina; the continuing exploits of the midget family and their DUIs, or any of the other dreck regularly promoted on the bargain-basement circus known as TLC.
maybe the numbers reflect people who actually like the palins…but something tells me there are plenty of people like myself who cannot stand the family and watched it mock and make fun of the idiots…just saying…

I wonder how Bristol keeps gaining weight on DWTS as well. I would truly appreciate it if I never had to hear Sarah Palin’s screechy voice ever again, but I worry that she is here to stay.

I wouldn’t say Sarah is ‘popular’. I would say that she is being force fed to the American people like a Disney High School musical. You have no choice. If you look at the numbers more Americans are NOT watching Sarah than those that are. As with DWTS, I think the audience have not been fooled, every time Bristol the Pistol makes it thru another week the Audience collectively breathes a WTF.

Indy, I come from a country called Toronto. Palin can have the moose, elk and grizzly-bear territories as far as I and many of my kind are concerned. And she will find many of her type of people in such areas — they will meet her with open arms.

They are not as much popular as like watching a car crash on the freeway you cannot look away. Sarah is just very strange and under-educated, but has a commanding presents with her unwavering confidence of stupidity…she is just fun to watch! Not so much popular?

I watched part of their show: the Palins were in a boat watching bears on the shore, until a bear came into the water towards the boat. Was I wrong to root for the bear?

I actually see strong similarities between Sarah and Oprah. Oprah is a whole lot smarter, though that is not saying much, but Sarah and Oprah’s popularity really is magical — there is no completely logical explanation for it. The fans are entranced, as if hypnotized.

I hate to break it to both the pro and anti palins but this has nothing to do with votes popularity or talent. Up until Friday of last week I worked for Disney legal the parent company of abc and it all comes down to bristols contract. It states she would make it to the top 3. I posted this on other sites from the beginning of the competition and guess what she is still there just likde David hasselhoff got paid a hefty penny to be the sacrificial lamb. He was paid more than Bristol even stands to earn if she wins! The show didn’t have a strong celebrity name so they dished out the big bucks for the hoff.

I refused to watch this season of DWTS because of Palin and the “Abs” moron, mainly but they just have to get STARS if they’re going to call it that!
Maybe Palin’s stupid reality show did get 5 mil viewers (I doubt that) but that’s a really small rating compared to what other shows bring in in prime time. TLC just doesn’t expect much I guess. Anyway, I’m waiting for their 15 minutes to elapse…and my watch is on about 13 and a half minutes right now.
Just like American Idol, DWTS is FIXED. Last night, Britol (imho) totally sucked. All she did was hold out that long skirt like a fan and she did not do any difficult dance moves, yet she got a very high score.
I believe NO FATS where he/she said it was guaranteed that Bristol would make it to the top 3 or 4. And is her partner trying to put the make on her, or is this just another publicity trick? Methinks it is the latter.
The rise of reality and talent-competition shows completely puzzle me. Why spend your day working this a collection of fat-assed idiots and then come home to watch more on television?

I strongly suspect that the Palin’s popularity is sustained by the same ‘end justifies the means’ rabid evangelical voters who foisted a second disastrous George W. Bush term on us, and who without doubt would vote Sarah in too if they could.
I find it unbelievable that Sarah Palin’s, and her family’s career path could lead to the White House. Most countries would consider Palin’s actions too undignified for the country’s leader.
When I was at Disney there were several ppl who were furious about the network manipulating the results on dwts, but it isn’t the first time they have done this! They did it with Melisa rycroft from a few seasons ago. Abc tried desperately to make that poor girl a star but the American public didn’t find any appeal in her. Bristol seems nice enough but she has no personality and her partner may aswell be dancing with a blowup doll

Speculation has been rife that someone with proof of that little fraud forced Sarah’s hasty resignation from office. That was a win for Alaskans—and for the Palins, too, as they continue to capitalize $$$$ on their celebrity.
