Will Ferrell

WILL FERRELL COULD BE EITHER A FUN OR ANNOYING ISOLATION PARTNER

Having Will Ferrell for a father MUST relieve some of the boredom of social isolation these days. Will took his wife Viveca and his two youngest sons, Axel, 10, and Mattias, 13, plus the family dogs, for a walk today. They all had the required masks and Will wore a Navarro Cheer sweatshirt- promoting a Netflix series about the Navarro Community College Cheer Squad. Will probably has a soft spot for cheerleaders because HE often played one on Saturday Night Live back in the 90’s in skits with Cheri Oteri…

DADDY’S HOME 2 – ONCE WAS ENOUGH

Sorry to say Daddy’s Home 2 is nowhere as entertaining as the first one – and the first one was merely tolerable. The idea of dad vs stepdad was interesting the first time around, despite the lack of subtlety and overacting by Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg. The second movie is like the first, but on STEROIDS. Bigger budget, worse script, cornier acting, and more special effects. Will Ferrell falls down a lot, but never gets hurt. Mel Gibson’s stereotypical character was a poorly written obnoxious bully – not a good comeback. Mark Wahlberg looked appropriately embarrassed much of the time – so did the audience…

“DADDY’S HOME” IS SMARTER AND FUNNIER THAN “SISTERS”

Daddys-Home-new-pos#2Ccut

Wanna take a break from the holidays and have a few laughs this week? Head to your local movie theater and see “Daddy’s Home.” We hate to admit it, but Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg’s comedy leaves Tina Fey and Amy Poehler’s “Sisters” movie in the dust. It’s not that Tina and Amy aren’t as funny – they just have a lame script to work with. Surprisingly, Will and Mark’s movie is not only entertaining, but suitable for kids. Translation: it’s less vulgar than “Sisters.”

WILL FERRELL AND KEVIN HART MIGHT BE THE PERFECT COMEDY TEAM

AG065396_01hartcut
If Kevin Hart would be a little more careful about who he stands next to in photos, it might not be so glaringly apparent that he is uncommonly short. But then, his challenging height is probably one of the reasons he’s funny. Kevin, who claims to be 5’4”, costars with 6’3” Will Ferrell in “Get Hard.” Will plays a prison-bound hedge fund manager who asks Kevin’s businessman character (who has never been in jail) to prepare him for life behind bars. A few descriptive terms tossed around are racist, homophobic, and raunchy. Sounds like Will and Kevin’s fans will be happy.

ROBIN THICKE AND WILL FERRELL – MORE RICH PEOPLE ASKING FOR MONEY

Now, this is getting out of hand. According to Page Six, Robin Thicke and Will Ferrell are appealing to the public to help them raise $100,000 so they can make a music video of a song they did together for “Anchorman 2.” That’s what it will cost for both guys to clear their schedules and fly to the same location to film. Do these two busy celebrities really expect fans to pool their money and finance the project? It’s difficult to muster up any financial sympathy for a pair of multimillionaires, but never underestimate the foolish generosity of die-hard fans.

THE OTHER GUYS: WILL FERRELL’S REDEMPTION

Will Ferrell can breathe a big sigh of relief because “The Others Guys” is set to be number one at the boxoffice this weekend. Opening day was 13.2 million and that’s expected to reach over 35 million by Monday. Will had a lot to lose because his last movie “Land of the Lost” (a real stinker) was a monumental flop. Salary negotiations for his upcoming films depended on how “The Other Guys” fared this weekend. Now his CAA agents can demand top dollar for Will again. Insiders agree that the fact that Will and Mark Wahlberg went all over the country to promote the movie made a big difference. They even had an online contest and the Galaxy theater in Chesterfield, Missouri won the honor of having a second red carpet premier of the film with the stars in attendance. (photo above)
