JANE BIRKIN TAUGHT ME A LESSON

Actress/singer Jane Birkin’s funeral was a huge deal in Paris. Thousands of fans lined the streets while her celebrity friends and family were inside the church. The event was live-streamed on a huge screen outside so everyone could watch. Speaking of the Birkin bag, on my first trip to Paris decades ago, I foolishly bought what passed for a dark red leather Birkin bag. It was probably a knock-off, but it looked good and cost a LOT. It became my daily bag in LA when I got home, and still is the only handbag that a strange man complimented me on. THAT should have been a clue. One night I took it to The Candy Store nightclub in Beverly Hills and it was stolen off the table while I was dancing. Disaster- my drivers license, credit cards, and makeup were all gone! I learned a painful lesson: NEVER carry an expensive or desirable looking handbag. You are ASKING for trouble!

JAIME PRESSLY ACCUSES ESTELLA WARREN OF PURSE SNATCHING!

There simply aren’t enough stories about celebrity thievery and they ARE fascinating! This weekend “My Name is Earl” actress Jaime Pressly played detective and accused “Planet of the Apes” actress, Estella Warren, of stealing her assistant’s handbag! The three women were at the same LA partly when Jaime’s assistant realized her purse was missing. Crimefighter Jaime used the location app to track the iPhone in the purse. The app led them to the Bootsy Bellows club in Hollywood. They found Estella with the phone and the handbag, which now also contained drug paraphernalia. Cops were called and we’re betting Jaime’s detective work paid off. Two years ago Estella, 34, had a DUI in which she hit three parked cars and then kicked the policeman who arrested her. She also famously escaped from the police station but was ultimately caught and sentenced to six months in rehab.

IT’S NOT THE FIRST TIME LINDSAY LOHAN HAS HAD STICKY FINGERS: HOW ABOUT THAT MINK COAT?

This stolen necklace situation with Lindsay Lohan is an instant replay of a stolen coat situation in 2008. The neighborhood jeweler who spotted a paparazzi photo of Lindsay wearing his missing necklace called her on it, and the jewelry was delivered to the police the next day. Back in 2008 Lindsay was at a party at 1Oak in New York seated next to a young woman who took off her $11,000 blond mink coat. When the woman got up to leave, the coat was gone. Days later, she saw paparazzi photos (above) taken that same night of Lindsay wearing the coat! She called 1Oak, who were of no help, and had her lawyer contact Lindsay’s lawyer. The next day the coat was delivered to her, reeking of cigarettes and booze. No apology, nothing. She didn’t press charges. A coincidence? We think not.
