KATY PERRY HAS THE LAST LAUGH

The Balenciaga show is always a big deal during Paris Fashion Week and Katy Perry showed up to support the luxe brand in what appears to be a luggage-inspired cocktail dress. Or is it a dress for traveling? The front features a strappy backpack and a series of fanny packs, duffel bags and briefcases. All those zippers indicate that a lot could be stored in those pouches. But what would it look like if the wearer DID fill the pockets? This Balenciaga design will no doubt appeal to those who love punk fashion…

HARPER BECKHAM IS GROWING UP FAST

From awkward pre-teen to glamour girl! Harper Beckham, the daughter of Victoria and David Beckham, is growing up really FAST – according to this photo of just-turned THIRTEEN year old (!) Harper and her father and brother Romeo on their way to Victoria’s Paris fashion show. Seems like yesterday Harper was barely up to her mom’s shoulder. This week she looks really attractive in a baby pink satin gown designed by her mother, and kitten heel sandals.  Apparently she’s living up to her mom’s fashion expectations…

Paris Fashion Week is bringing us up to date on menswear now and we have to admit it’s funny, but more than a little scarey. Looks like the male designers are trying to outdo the outrageous designers of women’s wear, and they are succeeding. Can you imagine anyone you know dressing like this? How about a celebrity? Walter Van Bierendock is the designer here who thinks men should loosen up and be more innovative…

Alexander Edwards Back in Action Boyfriend Cher Paris Fashion Week

CHER’S ROMANCE RETURNED WITH A VENGEANCE

Well, it sure LOOKS LIKE Cher and her 40 years younger on-again boyfriend Alexander “AE” Edwards are getting serious! How do we know? First of all, they traveled together to Paris for Fashion Week. That is exactly where they were introduced last year by mutual friend Tyga. THIS time they were inseparable and affectionate. Cher even wore her platinum blonde wig that matched AE’s hair. And they are starting to dress alike – lots of black leather and metal. Before they split last May, Cher said they were working on new music together – AE is a rapper and record executive. Does Cher know that AE has said he doesn’t believe in monogamy and cheated on his last girlfriend with 12 women? She DOES seem to be having a good time …this is going to be an interesting relationship.

Men in Skirts Paris Fashion Week Skirt Thom Browne

QUICK! IS THIS A MAN OR A WOMAN?

If you saw the Thom Browne fashion show in Paris, it might take you awhile to answer. The male and female models wore the same styles -with skirts galore- with most in platform heels. Female models often had lopsided wigs and makeup that made their faces look distorted by a stroke. What we DIDN’T see was anything tight, low cut or sexy – which was rather refreshing. One thing for certain – the actual clothing in Thom Browne stores looks a lot more wearable than the clothing in the show…

HERE’S A THREESOME: DIANE KEATON, CARDI B, AND ANNA WINTOUR!

We would LOVE to eavesdrop on the conversation between these three people thrown together in the front row at the Thom Browne Couture show at Paris Fashion Week. Diane Keaton and Cardi B are dressed head to toe BY Thom Browne for the big event, but it looks like Vogue editor Anna Wintour is not. We’re guessing Thom Browne had to custom make Cardi’s suit because his designs do NOT have room for bottoms her size. Looks like Cardi is chatting and being her frivolous self and Diane appears to be quite amused, but Anna looks like she’d rather be somewhere else…

THEIR MUTUAL LOVE OF FASHION BROUGHT JANET AND PARIS JACKSON TOGETHER

And it’s about time. For years Janet Jackson had little or nothing to do with her late brother Michael’s daughter Paris. In fact, the last time they were friendly was at Michael’s funeral. Since then, they have clashed whenever the family got together for a funeral or event. Paris would never talk about it and Janet just kept her distance. It’s doubtful that Paris has ever met Janet’s son. Janet and Paris were both prominently featured during Paris Fashion Week and they couldn’t avoid each other. Janet FINALLY gave in and posted this photo of them together on Instagram. Which is nice…but Janet still doesn’t follow Paris on Instagram (Paris follows HER)

Christin Louboutin Hair! Janet Jackson Louis Vuitton Make up Paris Fashion Week

JANET JACKSON ALWAYS HAS A FRONT ROW SEAT

Janet Jackson had an interesting companion for the Louis Vuitton show in Paris. She and shoe designer Christian Louboutin have actually been to several red carpet events together in the past year. It does NOT look like she’s wearing his boots, however. Janet is wearing a Vuitton silver sequin puffy jacket that isn’t doing her any favors. But again it’s her hair that we take issue with. She deserves better than those two large heavy ponytails. And her makeup is way too vivid for daytime. We know how good she CAN look. When Janet and Christian went inside, SHE sat in the front row and he went to the back.

Hair! Janet Jackson Paris Fashion Week Shoes! Thom Browne

JANET JACKSON IS ENJOYING HER NEWFOUND HEIGHT

Designer Thom Browne (who happens to be one of our unaffordable favorites) is famous for putting men in skirts and women in preppie neckties and he’s attracted all kinds of celebrities – including Janet Jackson. She wore Thom Browne to the Billboard awards and decorated the front row at his Paris show in an immaculately tailored layered outfit with one short sleeve and one long. Note the outrageously high platform heels – 7 or 8 inches- and the oversize “handbag” as big as a suitcase. The only drawback to Janet’s look is the piled high hair- makes her look like a stern matron in a 1960’s orphanage…

Balenciaga Black Kanye West Kids North West Paris Fashion Week

KANYE WEST AND NORTH WEST HAVE SOMETHING IN COMMON

Kanye West took his three oldest kids – North, 9, Saint, 6, and Chicago, 4, out to dinner in Paris during Fashion Week and North is starting to REALLY enjoy the limelight. She wore 4 inch platform boots with her all black outfit and the other kids also wore head-to-toe black. Even the nanny was dressed all in black. Earlier that day, Kanye had walked the runway in the Balenciaga fashion show wearing a black military oversize jacket with a hood, baseball cap, and dark glasses – essentially looking just the same as he has for the past six months OFF the runway…
