Martin Margiela just might be in a twist over Katy Perry’s Maison Margiela dress at the Met Gala, which was custom designed by John Galliano, who took his place. Katy’s gown was the antithesis of Margiela’s fashion theory of shocking simplicity with avant-garde shapes. Galliano’s red dress is gaudy and fussy and loaded with ruffles and straps – resulting in a pleasantly colored shapeless mass. When it comes to designing, Galliano doesn’t make a lot of mistakes, but this is one of them…

Kanye west is stealing lady gaga’s look
Inspired by Gaga to increase his influence in the fashion world, Kanye West took the stage at an Atlantic City casino in an all white skirt outfit. During the performance he switched from an elaborate feather mask to a crystal hockey mask – both from the Martin Margiela collection. We wonder how his fellow hip hop singers will react to this style extravagance – will they FINALLY dump their falling- down pants and baseball caps? This could be the start of something big.
