Marion Cotillard

DON’T UNDERESTIMATE THE POWER OF MARION COTILLARD

Somewhere there’s a jewelry designer jumping for joy. La Vie en Rose star and Oscar winning French actress Marion Cotillard dressed down for the Giorgio Armani show during Fashion Week in Paris. But the beautiful actress chose to wear a highly unusual single earring that had everyone talking. Her ear was actually far more dressed up than the rest of her with pearls, beads, chains and abstract objects. Our prediction: a single extravagant earring will soon become the Next Big Thing in jewelry…

MARION COTILLARD AND THE INFLATABLE DRESS

We love Marion Cotillard and usually her fashion is right on target- how did she go so WRONG? We suspect some designer pal or stylist talked the pregnant actress into this and from the look on her face – she realized too late it was a huge mistake. The frock vaguely resembles a formal circus tent – it looks capable of standing up by itself. Marion is expecting her second child with her husband Guillaume Canet and no doubt some day they will look back at this photo and laugh.

WE LOVE BRAD PITT, BUT HE’S NO CLARK GABLE

One of the main reasons to see Allied is the revelation that Brad Pitt is absolutely gorgeous in vintage 1940’s apparel. He is a dream walking in gabardine and bears more than a slight resemblance to Clark Gable. But sadly, without Gable’s charm! For whatever reason, Brad’s character is stiff and humorless. It’s an old-fashioned love story set during WWII, but while Marion Cotillard’s character is radiant and fun, Brad’s spy character almost never smiles. It’s a beautiful to look at tragic love story, but we never shed a tear. Something was missing…

BRAD PITT HAS THAT “CLARK GABLE ” LOOK

Brad Pitt happens to look great in vintage clothing – just like Clark Gable. In this case his attire is from 1942 – he’s filming a WWII romantic thriller called “Five Seconds of Silence” in the UK. Brad plays a spy who falls in love with a French agent played by Marion Cotillard while they are both on a mission in Casablanca. In the set-side photo above, Brad and Marion shared a laugh while on a break from filming. It’s been awhile since we’ve seen Brad in a romantic movie.

MARION COTILLARD COULD TEACH THE KARDASHIANS AND HILTONS A THING OR TWO

How refreshing. An actress who acts like a normal person. Marion Cotillard is in New York and she walked with her publicist to a red carpet charity event at The French Institute Alliance Francaise on 60th st. She’s wearing a cute plaid summer dress and oxfords. Marion doesn’t need a “glam squad” of people to prepare her for a daytime event – she just brushes her hair and wears very little makeup. No false eyelashes, cleavage or stiletto heels. What’s wrong with looking natural and pretty? Take note Kardashians, Jenners, Hiltons, and Housewives!

MARION COTILLARD: FRENCH AND UNPRETENTIOUS

Here’s a dress the Kardashians would never understand or appreciate – because it FITS, and no oversize body parts are exposed. They figure that’s what dresses are FOR. We were dumbstruck when we came across this photo of Marion Cotillard at an AFI screening of her movie “Two Days, One Night,” at the Egyptian theater. There is something so sweet and simple and feminine about this long dress that it almost looks retro. It’s refreshing – no slits up to there, no plunging necklines, no glitz, just beautiful detailing.

MARION COTILLARD: EVEN DIOR CAN MAKE A MISTAKE

#marioncotillard #janetcharlton

This is the fashion disaster of the weekend. Dior manages to make the beautiful and slim actress Marion Cotillard look both frumpy and dumpy at a New York screening of her movie “Rust and Bone.” The double layer dress seems to aim at a ”stained glass window” effect but it does NOTHING for the wearer. The drab neckline and sleeves are housedress-like and the length is awkward. Fortunately a bad dress is soon forgotten…

MARION COTILLARD DOES IT HERSELF

This illustrates the difference between European movie stars and American stars. Oscar winning “La Vie en rose” actress Marion Cotillard, who’s currently starring in “Nine,” arrived at the Paris airport with no fanfare. Not only did she fly alone, without an entourage, but she piled up and schlepped her own luggage. To top it off, she was picked up at the airport by a friend, NOT a limo!
