HOW TO FILL A RESTAURANT WITH CELEBRITIES DURING A PANDEMIC

Don’t know how we missed this tidbit of news from Chris Gardner at The Hollywood Reporter, but it happened a few weeks ago when New York City restaurants opened for dining at 35% capacity. The Peter Luger Steak House in Brooklyn thought of an amusing way to fill some of the empty seats while abiding by Covid safety rules. They borrowed wax figures of celebrities to help fill the restaurant. You could rub elbows with Jon Hamm standing at the bar, or sit at a table with Audrey Hepburn, thanks to Madame Tussauds Wax Museum. Also hanging around the place were a smiling Jimmy Fallon, Michael Strahan, and Al Roker. Not very talkative, but nice for photo ops along with your steak dinner!

LAVERNE COX: THIS “LIKENESS ” IS ALMOST AN INSULT!

Orange is the New Black star Laverne Cox is showing some impressive acting skills as she pretends to be happy with her new wax likeness at Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum in Hollywood. Last year Laverne became the first transgender wax figure in the Madame Tussaud’s in San Francisco, and her likeness was quite attractive. Granted, it IS an honor to be featured in the museum, but they chose a really unflattering look from her Rocky Horror Picture Show character for THIS version of Laverne. We think she should ask for a do-over.

OLIVIA NEWTON JOHN: THIS WAS YOUR LIFE!

It must feel WEIRD to come face to face with a life size version of yourself in 1978, but Olivia Newton John, 65, made the best of it. To the delight of tourists, Olivia showed up at Madame Tussaud’s Hollywood Wax Museum in Las Vegas to welcome her own wax figure to the collection. The wax Olivia was dressed up in spandex and leather as Sandy – her much-loved character from Grease that inspired so many young girls.

BRADLEY COOPER: “IS THIS WHAT I REALLY LOOK LIKE?”

Madame Tussaud’s in Las Vegas unveiled a wax dummy of “Hangover” star Bradley Cooper and we can’t decide if it’s a compliment or an insult. The wax figure supposedly cost $300,000, and is wearing a Tom Ford suit, but it looks like they used a cut-rate wax sculptor compared to wax museum in Hollywood.Bradley’s unflattering dummy looks like he has false teeth and his wig is WAY too obvious. He good-naturedly posed next to the figure, but we know what he’s thinking…
