One of the all -time cutest – and sweetest – American Idol contestants (back when we CARED) was dreadlocked singer Jason Castro from season seven. Now he’s 26, married to his Texas sweetheart and a father, and according to The Hollywood Reporter, he decided “the day has come” to chop off the dreads. He’s 24 now and married to “the girl of his dreams” – his Texas hometown sweetheart, Mandy Mayhall. They just had their first baby – a girl named Madeline- and excited Jason tweeted this photo.
Jason Castro is still on of our all-time favorite American Idol contestants that didn’t win. Last weekend he and his band played at the San Diego House of Blues with his younger brother Michael as his opening act. While the guys were unloading equipment and beer from the van, Jason took time to be nice to fans. He may be married, but he’s still adorable.
