GRACELAND IS ENJOYING SURGE OF INTEREST, THANKS TO ELVIS MOVIE
The new Elvis movie is stimulating interest in Graceland and visitors are filling up the place again. We had no idea it was SO expensive to get in! Like gas, prices are high, but demand is still there! Photos of the decor are always appalling – did Elvis hire a “decorator” or did his mother do it? His dark kitchen even had CARPETING – along with the latest fancy oven of that time. Why did he resist the popular decor of the era – mid-century modern? Anyway, apparently there are photos of Elvis and his gun collection at the house (he liked little pocket size pistols) – and he also had a target area where he practiced shooting at the outline of a man. Hate to say it, but “guns n’drugs” applies to Elvis as much as Chris Brown.
