GENE SIMMONS’ HARSH DOSE OF REALITY

It was a little over a year ago that Gene Simmons made the ponderous announcement that he and his wife Shannon Tweed were leaving California. His main gripe seemed to be that the tax rates were “unacceptable,” but he also complained about earthquakes, traffic, fires, and even pesky tour busses. He decided to leave this “uninhabitable” state and move to tax-friendly Nevada. He packed up, sold his Beverly Hills house, and bought a place in Lake Tahoe. Around that time he had a gallery showing of his art at The Venetian in Las Vegas. We’re not sure if his art sold well, but before we knew it, Gene was MOANING about the desert heat. Before Christmas, Gene and Shannon quietly moved back to a gorgeous architectural home in Bel-Air. So much for “uninhabitable” California…

Gene Simmons Million Dollar Listing Real Estate Taxes

GENE SIMMONS LEARNED THE HARD WAY THAT SOMETIMES LESS IS MORE

Last year (long before the pandemic) we told you that disgruntled Trump supporter Gene Simmons put his Beverly Hills mansion on the market for 22 million dollars because he’s moving to Washington to escape California taxes. It seems nobody wanted to buy it until the Altman Bros from Million Dollar Listing got their hands on the listing. They observed that the 16,000 sq ft house was packed to the rafters with KISS paraphernalia and souvenirs – gold and platinum records covered the walls up and down the stairs. The house also had WAY too much ostentatious furniture in every room. The Altmans decluttered the whole place – removed every trace of KISS, and replaced Gene’s decor with sleek minimalist furniture. After the “renovation” they upped the price and put the house on the market for 25 million!

GENE SIMMONS IS TAKING THE FAMILY JEWELS OUT OF STATE

Gene Simmons has put his Beverly Hills mansion on the market for 22 million dollars, and says he’s planning to move to Washington state “because California taxes are too high.” The former Celebrity Apprentice contestant is obviously a closeted fan of President Trump, but realizes it’s not a popular sentiment in the music world. The KISS musician has visited the White House and admits that Trump “says stupid things sometimes, but so do you and I.” He and his wife are moving into a 24 acre estate in Washington.

KISS “END OF THE ROAD” TOUR: NO PLASTIC SURGERY NECESSARY!

KISS is promoting their End of the Road farewell tour but they admit “It might last three years.” And why not? No matter how old they get, KISS has no expiration date. Gene Simmons is 69, Paul Stanley is 66, Eric Singer is 60, and Tommy Thayer is 57, and it doesn’t matter. If a hairline recedes, wrinkles appear, or a tummy gets big, the band’s fantastical costumes, makeup, and wigs will totally cover or distract from all undesirable features. When this band performs, they look pretty much the same as when they first started, decades ago. Lucky guys.

NICK SIMMONS CLEANED UP HIS ACT AND WE LIKE IT!

We kind of watched Nick Simmons grow up on “Gene Simmons Family Jewels” and he was always a smart-alecky, shaggy haired kid who grew to be 6’7” tall. Now, 26, Nick has finished college and he’s got a whole new image. He looks quite handsome at this Grammy party with his slicked back hair and John Varvatos suit. And he has a very cute date. Nick was seen with Amber Rose not long ago, but both denied there was a romance. Nowadays he could pass for an agent at CAA.

NICK SIMMONS IS FOLLOWING IN HIS ROCK STAR DAD’S FOOTSTEPS

Gene Simmons must be chuckling that his son Nick is a chip off the old block since he started dating Amber Rose. When Gene was Nick’s age he was known to be a womanizing rock star and he hooked up with a lot of famous women, including Cher. Amber, who just split with her rapper husband Wiz Khalifa, started out as a stripper and video vixen when she was discovered by Kanye West in 2008, and they had a two year romance. (He liked to dress her up the way he dresses Kim now.) 6’7” college educated Nick might be the nicest guy Amber ever went out with. (Above, they left Playhouse in Hollywood, arm in arm.)

GENE SIMMONS HAS A PLACE IN HIS HEART FOR MILITARY VETERANS

Frankly, we were surprised when the Disabled Veterans Alliance chose to honor Gene Simmons with a Patriotism Award for his support of our troops. Gene was born in Israel and never served in the armed forces. But he adamantly claims that Hollywood is shamefully neglectful about supporting our troops. Gene makes a point of visiting military hospitals and organizing charity events to raise money for veterans. He was touched to the point of tears when he accepted the award. It’s the end of an era for Gene Simmons. He and Paul Stanley officially retired from the band KISS that they started 40 years ago. A band called KISS II will continue to tour and record with none of the original band members. Gene and Paul will share in their profits, naturally. It’s the beautiful Shannon Tweed, who really has little use for such an item. She and her husband Gene Simmons and their kids Nick and Sophie are accustomed to being photographed at odd times. Their A&E reality series Gene Simmons’ Family Jewels has been successfully on the air since 2006, so intrusive cameras are an everyday occurrence. Nobody loves publicity more than her husband Gene.

Is Gene Simmons trying to out-do the Kardashians in the fame-whore department? We can imagine how the self promoting rocker is envious or perhaps inspired by the Kardashian steamroller of financial success. THAT explains his sudden desire to get married on TV after a lifetime of being adamantly against the institution. Ratings competition changes everything. At the beginning of this season of “Family Jewels” Gene wanted us to believe he and Shannon Tweed were splitting up.
