Garry Shandling

IF ONLY SHARON STONE WOULD NAME NAMES!

Sharon Stone, 63, was seen shopping on Madison Avenue last week looking absolutely adorable. And that slicked back hair suits her! We read her book The Beauty of Living Twice and one of the most surprising revelations was the fact that she once dated Garry Shandling! The book is compelling, but we thought she should have NAMED NAMES. She’s had a lot of very interesting Hollywood experiences, but she was apparently afraid to identify a lot of the characters. We fondly remember writing about her and her Basic Instinct costar Michael Douglas having a fling (from our hotel source)- in Star Magazine, but she did not mention it in the book!

WHAT HOLLYWOOD LAWYERS DO TO WOMEN IS APPALLING

The Hollywood Reporter is doing a brilliant job of tracking all the recent crimes against women in Hollywood and this week they took a look at the corrupt Hollywood lawyers. The late Garry Shandling’s ex-girlfriend Linda Doucette revealed her horrific experiences with powerful lawyers when she and Garry split. After living together for seven years, Linda says she left Garry because she wanted a baby and he did not. At the time she had a role on his series and she told Garry she didn’t want anything financial from him – she just wanted to keep her role on the show. He agreed. What Gary’s powerful lawyers put her through was a NIGHTMARE (Robert Shapiro even tried to kiss her!) after she was promptly FIRED from the show. GARRY SHANDLING: THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES

All day we’ve been haunted by the death of Garry Shandling. We didn’t realize how much we liked him and will miss him! The Larry Sanders Show was one of the funniest and smartest series of all time. Garry was as self-deprecating and modest as he was intelligent. And he did it all without being raunchy. Throughout our years of gossiping, we only heard how generous and caring he was. No negative stuff. We agree with his quote: “Nice guys finish first. If you don’t know that, then you don’t know where the finish line is.”
