MATTHEW PERRY’S BIG TERRIBLE THINGS

Gotta give Matthew Perry credit for writing his often-startling memoir Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing WITHOUT the help of a ghost writer. Not many celebs can pull that off. We had forgotten all about his short but sweet romance with Julia Roberts back in the day (now we know why it ended.) Perry’s intestinal drama and nine months with a colostomy bag caused by drugs was indeed scary. But most upsetting was his revelation that drug abuse caused him to lose all his top teeth at once! Imagine the Friends star visiting his dentist with half his teeth in a baggie in his pocket!

REDMOND O’NEAL COULDN’T SHAKE THE FAMILY CURSE

Being Farrah Fawcett’s son didn’t help Redmond O’Neal create a decent life for himself – because he was cursed with Ryan O’Neal for a father. Egotistical Ryan O’Neal has four kids with three women – three are drug addicts. His kids claim he plied them with drugs when they were pre-teens. Son Patrick escaped the family curse by growing up with his mother, Leigh Taylor-Young. Newly arrested Redmond has been in and out of over a dozen rehabs and spent most of his adult life in prison. His mother left him plenty of money (he attended Farrah’s 2009 funeral in handcuffs) but he couldn’t escape chronic substance abuse. He’s 33 and a hardened criminal now – charged with a crime spree including attempted murder, armed robbery, assault with a deadly weapon, battery, etc. So much for “Hollywood Royalty.”

Friends are worried because they think THIS star signed up for “Dancing with the Stars” HOPING to be injured! Twinkle toes has long had a penchant for drugs of all kind, and especially painkillers. Rigorous rehearsals often cause amateur dancers to have injuries and back problems that can last for who-knows how long. This dancer may be eagerly anticipating the powerful pills and shots generally prescribed for recovery. Friends predict such an injury will lead directly to another stint in rehab.

This A List Hollywood star had had public battles with drug abuse. He seems to have put it all behind him and settled into a successful career and happy home life. What his wife doesn’t know is that he has started quietly smoking pot with his teenage son and his son’s buddies. (The scene reminds of Ryan O’Neal’s early indiscretions with his kids.) The actor doesn’t see any harm in it, but friends who know are worried.
