Suri Cruise is thrilled with her little dog- she’s been wanting one for a long time. Obviously she has been well brought up because she picks up after her pooch in a Brooklyn park. Suri has her mother Katie Holmes to thank for the good manners AND her pup, she hasn’t seen her Scientologist father Tom Cruise in years…

Jeremy Piven knows that carrying a cute little dog can make anybody seem more appealing. The Mr Selfridge star (we loved that series!) has been having popularity problems. He was accused by a number of unrelated women of groping, inappropriate behavior, and sexual misconduct of all sorts. Jeremy became outraged and flatly declared that all charges were false and completely fabricated. He claimed all the women were opportunistic – seeking fame and money. Nobody was happy with THAT response, and coincidentally or not, his 2018 series Wisdom of the Crowd was canceled.

The outspoken Carrie Fisher is one of our longtime favorites – she’s incredibly smart and funny and occasionally plagued by psychological problems. She’s promoting The Force Awakens and likes to joke about how she was asked to lose 35 pounds before filming started. “They didn’t want ALL of me” she says “they only wanted 3/4 of me. They might as well have told me to GET YOUNGER!” Carrie went on to say that her French Bulldog Gary (above at the airport) was so smitten with the movie that his tongue has been hanging out ever since he saw it.

Looks like Jane Fonda is more interested in her dog than she is her boyfriend! Jane and Richard Perry had a dinner date at Craig’s and Jane brought along her beloved dog Tulea. The pup was wearing a vest that indicates he is a “service dog” and can go places – like restaurants – that other dogs can’t. If you have the money, it’s not difficult to get a service dog vest whether it’s legitimate or not. This has a lot of dog owners riled up in LA, because it doesn’t seem fair. After dinner, Jane was so concerned about getting Tulea tucked into the car that she nearly forgot her boyfriend Richard.

Andy Cohen and his dog Wacha have the sweetest love story. Especially since Andy HAD NEVER HAD A PET before he found Wacha. Andy always loved Snoopy and he saw a photo of Wacha, a Beagle mix, on Petfinder.com. (Just like we saw a photo of our dog Elvis.) Andy kept looking at the photo and eventually arranged to have a tryout “date” with the rescue. At first Andy almost backed out because Wacha was bigger than he expected – around 40 lbs. But Wacha tried SO hard to be liked that Andy fell in love and they have been deliriously happy together for a year now.

With Kim Kardashian’s baby North causing paparazzi stampedes, Paris Hilton knew she’d need a gimmick of her own to get any attention at all. So instead of rescuing a needy pup, Paris paid around $13,000 for “the world’s tiniest” Pomeranian. The four month old puppy is imported from a breeder in South Korea and is expected to weigh only two pounds when it’s full grown. When Paris carries it like an accessory (at the airport above) she gets plenty of attention.

We feel obliged to post this Lost Dog flyer for Jeremy Renner’s runaway French Bulldog Hemi. On July 19 there was a power failure at Jeremy’s house near Runyon Canyon and the gate opened, allowing the 1 year old pup to escape. Jeremy’s been scouring the neighborhood for his pet ever since. Incredibly, Hemi had a collar, but no tags or microchip. Jeremy is desperately posting these flyers all over offering a $5000 reward.
Another day, another fairy tale. Meryl Streep, (walking her dog in the rain, above) and Johnny Depp are about to sign to star in a film version Stephen Sondheim’s Broadway musical “Into The Woods” for Disney. Both are excited at the prospect of singing. It’s the story of a baker and his wife who travel into the woods to confront the witch who put a curse on their family, and the encounter various whimsical characters. Meryl is reportedly eager to play the witch.

Arnold Schwarzenegger is still putting on a brave face and openly spending time on the streets of Brentwood and Beverly Hills. Often he’s with his cronies but today he had his dog along for company. It’s probably refreshing to be with a companion who has no opinions about your private life in times like this- all the dog hopes for is an occasional treat.
