NO WONDER MARIAH CAREY ENJOYS BEING CALLED A DIVA

Meghan Markle interviewed Mariah Carey for her podcast Archetypes, and the conversation was lighthearted until Mariah casually remarked “You give us diva moments sometimes, Meghan.” Meghan looked horrified and asked “How can you say that?” – NOT the reaction Mariah was looking for. Meghan continued “What kind of diva moments do I give you?” Mariah hastened to explain that it was a COMPLIMENT – due to Meghan’s VISUAL appeal- her beauty, gorgeous ensembles, and glamorous life. “You have everything going for you!” Mariah observed. Meghan thought it over and decided that Mariah meant well, but there are decidedly different ways of interpreting the word diva. The dictionary defines the word diva as a “difficult, temperamental, and demanding person.” For some reason, Mariah connects the word to glamour and success. After this, will she still be flattered when people call HER a diva?

As she left an office building dressed in what Mariah considers to be “casual attire,” her doting boyfriend Bryan Tanaka thoughtfully handed her a fan to keep herself cool. Mariah’s bodyguard was waiting outside with an umbrella in case the sun got too hot. All this just to walk to her limo a few steps away…

Diva Fast & Furious Vin Diesel

IS VIN DIESEL THE BIGGEST DIVA IN HOLLYWOOD?

The Telegraph in the UK asked this question and it appears the answer is yes. And Vin Diesel’s former co-star Dwayne “the Rock” Johnson heartily agrees. Director Justin Lin, who worked on 5 Fast & Furious movies and was set to direct the next two, just walked OUT because he cannot bear to work with Diesel again. Lin said the 10 million dollar salary was not worth sacrificing his “mental health.” We all know what Vin’s past costar The Rock thinks of him. The Rock praises his female costars but says the men are a different story. The Rock is known for being a likable guy on all sets and has little patience for tyrants – he doesn’t tattle, but drops hints. Diesel is known for keeping everyone waiting for hours on sets. The Rock turned down BIG money offers to work again with Diesel. Did you know Vin has it written into his contract that he can never be seen LOSING a fight onscreen? Isn’t that just too macho for words!

Demands Diva Mariah Carey Self-indulgence

NOBODY WANTS TO SAY ANYTHING BAD ABOUT MARIAH CAREY – EVEN IF SHE HAS IT COMING!

Surprise! Mariah Carey has traded her usual exaggerated cleavage at the neckline for TOE cleavage in this photo! In fact her toes seem crammed into those pointy toe heels and they’re probably screaming for mercy. This week it was hesitatingly revealed that Mariah was impossible to work with on two movie cameos she did. Both ended up being cut because she was so late and impossibly demanding. The exasperated stars of the movies leaked a little info and hinted at much more but held back. For SOME reason, Mariah seldom gets called out for her self-indulgences, and it’s NOT because she’s so well respected, if you catch our drift…

MARIAH CAREY IS TOO IMPORTANT TO FASTEN HER OWN SHOES

Mariah Carey seems to be the only one really showing off in Hollywood lately and it’s surprising because she used to be so private. But having a reality show AND being jilted by a billionaire CAN make one more outgoing and self-aggrandizing. Mariah stopped by the Kardashians favorite Epione clinic (we predict bigger lips in her future) and afterward went shopping in Beverly Hills. In the course of the day she changed clothes THREE times so one might assume there were cameras on her. She continued her act of calculated narcissism into an expensive shoe salon where she REFUSED TO LIFT A FINGER. While she sipped wine, AN EMPLOYEE KNELT AND FASTENED THE SHOES she was interested in on her feet. Maybe her velvet biker jacket was so tight she couldn’t lean over…

FREDDIE PRINZE JR IS OUR HERO FOR TELLING THE TRUTH!

How can you NOT love Freddie Prinze Jr for telling it like it IS? The “I Know What You Did Last Summer” star costarred on the eighth season of “24” with Kiefer Sutherland and made it clear that working with Sutherland was no picnic. In fact , Freddie “hated every minute of it.” It was Kiefer’s “lack of professionalism” that made Freddie contemplate quitting show business! Obviously everyone kowtowed on the set to their precious star Kiefer and he was a self-centered diva. Despite his legendary boozing, Kiefer showed up for work, but probably in a horrible state much of the time. We only wish Freddie had provided MORE details! We love the way he made fun of Kiefer’s height by revealing he had to take off his shoes in scenes with him. Thanks, Freddie – honesty in Hollywood is delightful!

THE DAY OF THE DIVA IS OVER

Liza Minnelli, 68, may be a legend but that no longer excuses bad behavior. According to Page Six she was hired to shoot an ad for Pine Brothers Cough Drops (our favorite) and had a mile long list of demands. They included two cartons of cigarettes, a humidifier, 6 cases of Bai antioxidant drink, food and body scales, black Egyptian cotton towels, a $400 coffee service, AND SO ON. (Plus hair and makeup.) It was all waiting for her on shoot day, but she backed out, saying she felt “too much pressure.” Frantic producers called no-nonsense Martha Stewart, 72, and she rushed over and was camera ready in ten minutes. She shot the ad, which ran during The Golden Globes, like a pro. She earned around a million dollars for forty minutes of work! It’s time for Liza and all the other divas in the world – to snap OUT of it! We no longer choose to indulge self-centered people. What the world needs, is more women like Martha Stewart who get the job DONE.

DIANA ROSS’S TANTRUM AT LA SCALA: HANDLED CORRECTLY?

What would YOU do? By now most of you have read about Diana Ross’s recent diva antics at La Scala in Beverly Hills. According to Page 6, Diana arrived early without a reservation to meet her daughter for lunch. The restaurant has a policy of NOT seating incomplete parties without a reservation. Ross asked to be seated right away and was denied, so she marched to a corner booth and sat down defiantly. Management informed her of their policy and said that if she cut the line and sat before her daughter arrived, she would NOT be served. She wouldn’t budge and when her daughter came they both made a big scene and stormed out of the restaurant. LaScala owner GiGi Leon defended his policy and said “We treat everyone the same, whether they’re famous or not.” (You’ve gotta love him for that.) Out of respect for the veteran diva, should he have asked the people in line to allow Miss Ross to cut ahead of them? Or was he right to maintain his fair policy? What would you have done? KRIS JENNER’S HAIR GIVES QVC A HEADACHE

Kris Jenner recently started selling her fashion collection on QVC and she’s already earned a reputation as a diva. Among other things, she simply CANNOT allow the QVC staffers to blow dry her hair for the show. Despite the fact that the hair and makeup people have served many celebrity guests before Kris, she won’t let anyone touch her hair except her private hairdresser Alex Rodan. QVC has to pay Alex $1500 a day to travel with Kris.

American Idol Demands Diva Jennifer Lopez

LOOKS CAN BE DECEIVING: SYMPATHETIC JENNIFER LOPEZ

Jennifer Lopez may seem awfully sweet and down to earth on “American Idol” these days, but when it comes to being a demanding diva, she hasn’t changed a bit! The Idol judges were put up at the Las Vegas Mirage hotel for 48 hours during auditions, and a hotel insider tattled to The Enquirer that she drove the hotel staff crazy and was on of the most impossible celebrities they’ve ever encountered. Upon her arrival Jennifer demanded two cribs for her kids and a show staffer was sent out to get them because the show was responsible. Yet, Jennifer kept calling hotel reception demanding to know where they were. In fact, she complained to the HOTEL 20 times before the staffer produced the cribs. She also ordered 12 rolling racks for wardrobe, 20 mirrors, and a ton of spotlights for her makeup team. It took around 50 people to deal with her hair and make up, and she only had two changes on the show!
