Charlie Hunnam

TO GUY RITCHIE, IT’S STILL A MAN’S WORLD

It’s been awhile since we’ve seen an all-male movie made BY men FOR men, but Guy Ritchie is still promoting machismo. Of course, we were initially intrigued by The Gentlemen because of the attractive male cast and Ritchie’s amusing fast way of cutting his scenes- no wasted time. Too bad the men all had scraggly facial hair and Hugh Grant even managed to look like a worn-out Al Pacino. The plot is all about incredibly egotistical and greedy men attempting to outsmart each other. It’s funny, but reeks of testosterone. The actors have such thick cockney accents that it’s difficult to understand anything except the startling abundance of profanity. (More than we’ve ever heard in any film) Stomach churning violence abounds and when Michelle Dockery’s little used character appears, she acts just like a man. So maybe this film is your cup of tea, or maybe not…

CHARLIE HUNNAM: HIDING BEHIND HIS BEARD

Charlie Hunnam arrived at a social event at Chateau Marmont looking like THIS – which is to say, displaying few of his charms. Perhaps, the Sons of Anarchy star grew facial hair for the series because he had such a cute face that he needed to look rougher. But Anarchy is long past, and we want our handsome Charlie back! He’s obviously grown dependent on that face foliage and he even covered up his great head of hair with a hat – to go to this party. He doesn’t want to be noticed, but Charlie is 39 now and it’s time to enjoy his good looks, which will not last forever.

CHARLIE HUNNAM IS NOW A CALIFORNIA GUY

British actor Charlie Hunnam, 37, is getting a bit chilly in Beverly Hills so he’s buttoning up his sweater. We have to admit we’ve been missing the Sons of Anarchy star and it’s a treat to lay eyes on him. As much as we like Charlie, we walked out of his King Arthur movie directed by Guy Ritchie. Even Charlie couldn’t save just another film about men chasing each other with weapons. Charlie famously turned down the lead in Fifty Shades of Grey and we bet it would have been quite a different movie if he had starred, but who knows…

ROB PATTINSON IS HEATING UP AGAIN

All of a sudden, Rob Pattinson is looking hot again! The Twilight actor, 30, and his good looking castmates Sienna Miller and Charlie Hunnam appeared at the Berlin Film Festival promoting their movie “The Lost City of Z.” It looks like Rob’s fiancée, eccentric singer FKA Twigs, might be a good influence on him – his style has improved considerably. It’s funny to think about his split with Kristen Stewart. They broke up because she fooled around with her male director but since then she’s become a serial dater of attractive woman! In fact, she’s a womanizer! Anyway, they both seem happy with their new lives.

CHARLIE HUNNAM: CHIVALRY IS NOT DEAD

Charlie Hunnam, 36, is, indeed, a hot commodity, but some of his fans got totally out of control. At least they claimed to be his “fans.” A gaggle of immature female cyber bullies started harassing and insulting his girlfriend of 11 years, jewelry designer Morgana McNelis. The Sons of Anarchy star told them in no uncertain terms to back off and his nicer fans applauded his actions. Charlie and Morgana have been together since before he became a star and that’s one of the things he loves about her. Next year you can see him as King Arthur in Knights of the Roundtable. Above, the couple is trying not to be noticed in NYC.

CHARLIE HUNNAM: SO MANY QUESTIONS, SO FEW ANSWERS

Something is very fishy about the fact that Charlie Hunnam walked away from his leading role in “Fifty Shades of Grey.” The “Sons of Anarchy” hunk claimed he was too busy filming his TV series. As if he didn’t know about that before he signed up! There’s a lot more to this than meets the eye. Was Charlie offended by the aggressive “Fifty Shades” fans who thought he was miscast and made a huge fuss? (He was basically unknown before this, but we were looking forward to seeing him suited up in the part) ) Did the fact that producers hired a bodyguard for him, scare him off? Did he really quit or was he quietly paid off under the table and sent packing? What’s going to happen to the movie and his costar Dakota Johnson? Will the new leading man be paired up with someone else? Will we ever know the truth? Do we care?

CHARLIE HUNNAM HAS BECOME A VALUABLE PROPERTY

Dakota Johnson had her feelings hurt when she was announced as the female lead in “Fifty Shades of Grey” and rabid fans of the book cruelly denounced her. (It really wasn’t fair.) Leading man Charlie Hunnam caused a similar uproar and he ended up with increased security. When Charlie showed up at FX’s Sons of Anarchy premier in Hollywood he was the only cast member surrounded by bodyguards. According to The Hollywood Reporter, they weren’t hired by FX, the guards were sent by Universal, the studio doing “Fifty Shades of Grey.” He’s valuable now.

CHARLIE HUNNAM IS MORE THAN EQUIPPED TO PLAY CHRISTIAN GREY

We can’t understand why fans of “Fifty Shades of Grey” are making such a fuss over the casting choices. Fans are outraged that Charlie Hunnam and Dakota Johnson were selected for the leading roles. In our opinion, not-so-familiar actors let the audience concentrate on the story and make it more real and enjoyable. For example, when someone like Tom Cruise is in a movie, we never forget who he is and he always seems to be playing himself. HE overrides the plot. A new face makes the story seem real. Charlie Hunnam, 33, looks like a young Brad Pitt, is English, and has sold several screenplays. Picture him without the “Sons of Anarchy” facial hair and you’ve got a sexy Christian Grey. And Dakota Johnson is attractive and the appropriate age. The movie will be better without intrusive “big name” stars.

‘SONS OF ANARCHY” STAR CHARLIE HUNNAM IS GOOD LOOKING AND SMART

Charlie Hunnam, who plays Jax on “Sons of Anarchy,” arrived at Comic Con somewhat resembling a young Brad Pitt. And that’s not bad…Coincidentally, the UK born actor is also a writer and recently sold a screenplay called “Vlad” that Brad’s Plan B company is producing. It’s the story of a Romanian hero and Charlie would ideally choose Colin Farrell to star, while he swears it has nothing to do with vampires.
