NOTHING CAN STOP BOY GEORGE

Here’s someone who always looks holiday festive! Boy George and Culture Club sold out a Birmingham Arena this weekend in spite of his voice problems. The 62 year old singer still gives his audience plenty to look at, with numerous costume changes, but he struggles with a gravelly voice these days. Other singers on stage fill in the high notes when he can’t. Nevertheless, he is booked to return to Moulin Rouge on Broadway early in 2025, AND a movie about his life is in the works. George wants Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner to play him in the biopic. Why NOT? he insists…

BETTY WHITE’S MANY LOVES

A year after her death at 99, Betty White’s colorful and iconic life story is being developed into a movie, and her good friend Sandra Bullock is hoping to produce it. Sandra and Betty hit it off while costarring in The Proposal in 2009, and they stayed close until Betty’s passing in 2021. According to an insider, Sandra wants to honor her friend with a life story about Betty’s many loves, (including animals) but also capture some of her struggles and secrets that aren’t commonly known. Sandra has major pull at Netflix since starring in their huge hit, Bird Box, so it’s likely her biopic winds up on the streaming service.

BOY GEORGE: THE ROLE OF A LIFETIME?

Unlike SOME people, Boy George is not complaining about a new biopic called Karma Chameleon being made about his life. He says “I want it to be honest and truthful – and hilarious!” The movie will document George O’Dowd’s rise from small town boy to flamboyant rockstar, and it WILL include his 4 month prison term in 2009 for falsely imprisoning a male escort. First the film was delayed by Covid, and now it’s being held up because they haven’t cast someone to play George. George jokes that Harry Styles was “too scared” to take the role, but Yungblud and Adam Lambert have not been ruled out. George is now 60 years old – can you believe it?
