Charlie Rose asked him this question during the interview that aired earlier this week. He claimed that his hairline had been taken way back for a role that he’s playing and he’s keeping the look a secret.
Not saying whether I buy this explanation, but that is what he said.

Robert Downey Jr and Jude Law at premiers of their movie “Sherlock Holmes – A Game of Shadows” as well as their appearances on talk shows promoting the film – and they all have something in common. Jude Law is ALWAYS wearing a hat – not matter how inappropriate it is. (Knit beanies just look silly with tuxes.)The NY Post verbalized what we’ve been thinking – that Jude, 38, must be having hair transplants. His hair has been thinning fast and a bit of augmentation might look great. We remember when Jeremy Pivens went through the same hat-wearing routine….(PS: A man that good looking should never grow a beard)
