DIANE KEATON UNDERESTIMATED STEVE JOBS – AND LIVED TO REGRET IT
Let this be a lesson to young readers. Diane Keaton clarified her late 1970’s, potentially romantic encounter with Steve Jobs on Ellen, and we can all learn from her behavior. Diane told Ellen that she was living in New York and Steve Jobs moved into a three floor penthouse in the building complex. He let it be known that he wanted to meet the “Annie Hall” star, and although he was around 8 years younger, Diane paid him a visit in his apartment. She was overwhelmed by the fabulous penthouse, but underwhelmed by Jobs, who kept talking about computers and how everyone would have one in their home someday. Back in the 70’s this sounded improbable and Diane dismissed him as rather boring. She had no appreciation of his talent and very much REGRETS not recognizing his brilliance and cultivating at the least, a friendship. “I was an idiot!” (Above, Diane in “Annie Hall” in 1977)

Have the reports of DK and multiple lesbian relationships been disproven?
cara
Is it true that Keaton always wears sleeves on her arms b/c she’s been an IV drug user for decades???
Not that I’d judge, but it would be sad (and make sense -didn’t she sleep w/Allen?)jk.

I love Diane Keaton–I’m not much for comedy, but Baby Boom is one of my favorite movies.

“Steve Jobs was evil.”
Proofs of that?
gogogoverness
Steve Jobs was evil. And anyone connected to Woody Allen not worthy of press ;-p

So why does that make her an idiot? A lot of people probably thought Steve Jobs was a nutball. It’s not like he asked her to marry him and she turned him down or anything.
Denise
Pippa, you’ve said some dumb things, but that one takes the cake.

I guess about the time of this photo Woody had already started getting a boner every time his stepdaughters came into the room.

Commenting, commented, commenteted, commidling, comdiddling, confiddling.

So…if only she’d known he was destined to become a mogul, she would have pretended to be interested in him and his work? And this from one of the most successful women of her generation? Sheeesh! 🙂
But all is forgiven: Diane made one of the best ill-fated love stories ever in “Mrs Soffel”—and both she and Mel Gibson were terrific in it.
(Yes. The same Mel who had the big stones to tell the obvious truth about the j’ooze—he meant zionists, by the way.)
Pippa Martins-St. Onge
Jobs is the most over rated person in History.

You all should read Kathy Griffin’s book where she tells about her friendship with Steve Wozniak. Same thing, nothing but talk about computers, but Kathy used her humor with the guy to her great advantage.

I doubt she regreted it all that much.
Muffie!!
I always thought she looked like a dumb ass!!

Less than sexy Diane was the hero of the PC’ers of the Virginia Slim generation and she just turned out to be a dried up ugly old woman.
I guess about the time of this photo Woody had already started getting a boner every time his stepdaughters came into the room.

What she says speaks volumes about her.
diva
She’s still an idiot

By the time Steve Jobs could afford a triplex in NYC, his success was assured and his name well-known and you’d have to have been brain dead not to see the potential in personal computers.
Yes, Diane—if this story is true—you were “an idiot,” but it sounds more likely that she’s embellished the details a bit.
