Neil Patrick Harris

WAS NEIL PATRICK HARRIS TOO NICE AS OSCAR HOST?

nail patrick.

Neil Patrick Harris must have felt quite a weight off his blue velvet shoulders when the Oscar show ended – he celebrated at a party at The Palm restaurant afterward. Hosting the Academy Awards is an enormous amount of pressure, especially for someone who’s not a spontaneous comic. Neil is adorable and can sing and dance, but he lacks the edge and spontaniety of comedians like Ellen Degeneres, Ricky Gervais, or Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. Poking a little fun at spoiled movie stars is always a delight.

NEIL PATRICK HARRIS IS THE NICE GUY YOU THOUGHT HE WAS

Neil Patrick Harris lives up to expectations. The upcoming Oscar host recently moved to New York from Los Angeles, but while he lived here he frequented a hamburger place in Larchmont Village that his kids liked. He often ate there with Gideon and Harper, his 3 year old fraternal twins. A waiter told us that Neil was “amazingly polite and charming to everyone.” And he’s a disciplinarian. If his kids got loud he pulled them aside and quietly gave them a serious talking-to until they behaved. They will undoubtedly be well brought up!

NEIL PATRICK HARRIS CARRIES A LITTLE BIT OF “HEDWIG” WITH HIM

Neil Patrick Harris may be all manned up in a suit and tie while doing business in New York, but a hint of his transgender Broadway character “Hedwig” is always with him: note his red painted fingernails. And since his show opened in April, Tony winner Neil has never missed a performance – he doesn’t even have an understudy. Yet he manages to have a life with his partner David Burtka and their two young children. He also has a juicy role in the already acclaimed film “Gone Girl” being released in October. Can this likeable actor do no wrong?

A CHIC VACATION FOR ELTON JOHN AND NEIL PATRICK HARRIS

Heads turn in the streets of St Tropez as proud daddies Elton John and Neil Patrick Harris vacation together with their partners and kids. Elton and David Furnish are pushing their son Zachary in a stroller while Neil and David Burtka roll with their twins Harper and Gideon. The two families are enjoying a visit in the fashionable seaside town while the little boys have a long play date. Looks like fun. Did Elton have his hair highlighted to look like Zachary?

NEIL PATRICK HARRIS CAN’T WAIT TO GET HOME TO HIS TWINS

There was a time when “How I Met Your Mother” star Neil Patrick Harris wouldn’t think of missing a party, but fatherhood changes everything. Neil and his partner David Burtka welcomed surrogate twins – Gideon and Harper – a year and a half ago, and his priorities have obviously shifted. (The kids are just starting to form words.) Neil had a cameo in the American Reunion movie so he was at the premier and our nosey spy noticed him texting David before the film started. As soon as the film ended Neil texted David again saying “I’ll skip the after-party – be home soon!” like a dutiful and domesticated dad! (Photo above from Halloween)

ONE OF NEIL PATRICK HARRIS’ TWINS WILL BE A LITTLE DOOGIE

It’s a tribute to modern science that two gay men can hire one surrogate to give birth to fraternal twins – one fathered by each man! We were astonished to hear that the “How I Met Your Mother” star Neil Patrick Harris ,37, and his partner David Burtka’s surrogate mother gave birth on October 12 to a boy named Gideon and a girl named Harper. Each man donated sperm that fertilized an egg and both fertile eggs were implanted in their hired surrogate and thrived. No doubt they are watching the babies grow and excitedly trying to figure out who is responsible for who.

WHAT ANDERSON COOPER THINKS OF NEIL PATRICK HARRIS'S CRUSH

Openly gay Neil Patrick Harris of “How I Met Your Mother” recently admitted in an Out Magazine interview that he harbored a celebrity crush on CNN anchor Anderson Cooper. Harris swooned “He’s dreamy. Just dreamy.”
Upon hearing the news, Anderson was surprised and flattered and, with the usual aplomb, told a friend “I’ll have to start watching Neil’s show.”
