LOU DIAMOND PHILLIPS: DON’T ASK A COP FOR DIRECTIONS WHEN YOU’RE DRUNK

Lou Diamond Phillips pulled off the dumbest move while intoxicated within recent memory. It was 1:30 AM in Portland, Texas, and Lou was scheduled to be guest speaker at a civic event in nearby Flour Bluff, where he graduated from high school in 1980. Believe it or not, Lou was driving after having more than a few drinks, and he pulled up behind a POLICE OFFICER making a traffic stop. He got out of his car to ask directions to Flour Bluff, stumbled, and almost fell over. Really. The startled cop noted that his blood alcohol level was twice the legal limit and Phillips ended up in jail overnight, booked on a DUI. To his credit, Lou made it to the event the next day and apologized to the audience.

LOU DIAMOND PHILLIPS DOESN’T MIND THE HEAT

Lou Diamond Phillips and his wife Yvonne and their little girl Indigo braved the sweltering heat at the Studio City Farmer’s Market to pick up some organic fruit and vegetables. The La Bamba star has been appearing on TV in “Longmire” and recently finished filming ”The 33” with Antonio Banderas. It’s the story of the 33 Chilean miners who were trapped underground for 69 days when their gold and copper mine collapsed. The world was mesmerized by efforts to keep the miners alive and get as many out as possible.

LOU DIAMOND PHILLIPS GOT LOST IN THE SHUFFLE

With Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson both dying on June 25, it’s no wonder that the finale of “I’m a Celebrity Get Me out of Here” fell by the wayside. It suddenly occurred to us that we never found out who won the title of King of the Costa Rican Jungle on that fateful day. So we looked it up. Not surprisingly, agile Lou Diamond Phillips took the crown, followed by former wrestler Torrie Wilson and ex NBA player John Salley. Lou got a tidy sum of money delivered to his favorite charity and allegedly took home around two hundred thousand dollars ( or maybe more) for himself. Nobody eats bugs just for charity.

Here’s a face we haven’t seen for awhile. It’s Lou Diamond Phillips in Malibu with his third wife Yvonne, his mother, and his 7 month old daughter Indigo. (Lou also had three daughters with his second wife.) We loved him as Richie Valens in La Bamba, but we have to admit we loved Esai Morales, who played his bad boy brother, even more.
