Kevin Smith

KEVIN SMITH IS NO LONGER BIG – HE NEVER WAS TALL!

We’re the first to admit that we love to pick on Chasing Amy director Kevin Smith, 47, because he’s a grown man who dresses like a child. For some reason he thought it was endearing for a mature man to wear an athletic jersey, huge shorts, and a baseball cap for ALL occasions. Little did we know that his February heart attack would change his point of view. Docs told him to lose 50 pounds and he made a deal with Weight Watchers. Smith posted this photo of his delighted self at the Big & Tall men’s store where he went to buy jeans and was told they didn’t stock his new smaller size! Now that he can shop at regular stores, we hope his fashion sense will evolve. And if he ever takes off that goofy baseball cap we might find out he actually has hair!

ADAM SANDLER IS WEARING THE HUSKY GUY UNIFORM

Looks like Adam Sandler is turning to the Kevin Smith method for disguising weight. Director Smith is in the habit of wearing gigantic XXXXL t- shirts and super-wide mid calf pull-on “shorts” for all occasions. He’s always been overweight and last year he lost 85 pounds and nobody noticed because his boyish clothes were so big! His outfit has become the uniform for oversize “men” who want to disguise their heft and feel comfortable eating a lot. (The clothes never get tight!) Adam looks like he doesn’t want to face the fact that he’s packed on a few pounds – but who can tell in that outfit?

BRUCE WILLIS IN “COP OUT” – WAS IT WORTH IT?

No WONDER director Kevin Smith was in a bad mood after being thrown off that airplane flight for being too overweight. After seeing his new movie “Cop Out” we think he was embarrassed about THE MOVIE and took it out on Southwest Airlines. This is the kind of movie that makes you wonder if the director EVER had any talent or common sense. Certainly the lamest movie released so far this year, “Cop Out” is an embarrassment for everyone involved. The actors are all better than the trite and awful cop-buddy script. Tracy Morgan’s character is shrill and revolting, Sean William Scott is annoying and vulgar, and Bruce Willis looks justifiably mortified throughout. If he’s lucky, Kevin Smith might find an audience of young men who aren’t too smart.

KEVIN SMITH: WE’RE BACKING SOUTHWEST AIRLINES ON THIS ONE

Would YOU want to sit next to this man on an airplane (or for that matter, in a movie theater?) We’re siding with Southwest Airlines here. Chubby director Kevin Smith has been griping about being kicked off a flight for not buying two tickets like he usually does. Anyone who’s ever been forced to sit next to an overweight person in coach KNOWS how miserable it is. The seats ARE too small, but normal size people should not be made even MORE uncomfortable by obese seat-mates flopping into their limited personal space. We’re thrilled that Southwest is implementing this rule.
