Kim Kardashian is in Paris, of all places, wearing this denim outfit and her body seems to be screaming “Let Me OUT!!!” She sure looks uncomfortable (will she be able to sit down and eat lunch or will that zipper explode?) Jessica Simpson’s body language says loud and clear that she’s proud to be a voluptuous woman as she walks out of her New York hotel. She hosted a fashion presentation for curvy women previewing her spring collection of jeans designed “to fit every body type.” No doubt Jessica is also feeling upbeat and confident because her boyfriend, former footballer Eric Johnson, is in New York with her.

Can you guess who this famous American fashion designer is? Check the label- you’re probably wearing his socks or underpants. It’s Calvin Klein, who was touted as the new Yves Saint Laurent in the 70’s when he debuted his clothing line. In the late 80’s Klein dropped out of sight for awhile and the fashion world was abuzz with speculation that he was dying of AIDS. This would have put his huge namesake corporation in dire jeopardy. When he finally returned to work it was rumored that his company had hired a LOOKALIKE to stand in for the dead or ailing Klein! He must have been puzzled and flattered by the attention but managed eventually to convince the press that he was indeed, alive and well. And still around, as we can see.

Heidi Klum made a personal appearance and signed autographs at Bloomingdale’s to promote her jean line for Jordache, and Bloomie’s went all out to make her feel welcome. They surrounded her with mannequins that look exactly like her, wearing the jeans! If Victoria Beckham had made a similar effort, her jeans might not have landed in the mark-down bins.

It was definitely a wake-up call to Victoria Beckham when she learned that her pricey jean line dVb has NOT been selling well. In facts Kitson owner Fraser Ross publicly chastised Posh for not making a personal appearance at his shop to promote the lagging line. Immediately Victoria pulled on a pair of her own creations (which we rarely see her wearing) and marched over to Robertson Blvd. Shoppers were thrilled, photographers were delighted, and Kitson sold some jeans. Mission accomplished.
