JEAN- PAUL GAULTIER HAS HIS OWN WEST END MUSICAL

We haven’t seen Boy George dressed to kill in awhile, so you KNOW something is happening in London. It’s opening night of Jean Paul Gaultier’s Fashion Freak Show – a theater production on the West End. The show is described as “50 years of pop culture through the eyes of JP Gaultier (who happens to be one of our favorite designers!) Actors, dancers, and circus performers in extravagant costumes fill the stage along with the music, celebrities, and movies, that inspired Gaultier through the years. Certainly Madonna will be prominently featured in that infamous bullet bra! One critic said that this production makes all the other West End shows look “beige.” By the way, George and the Culture Club are currently on tour…

JEAN PAUL GAULTIER HAS A PARTY MONSTER

Sad times for fashion – first Barneys closes, and now Jean-Paul Gaultier is retiring! But he kicked off his departure with a spectacular last show in Paris full of surprise appearances. Paris Jackson made her runway debut and Boy George and Beth Ditto performed. We spotted this guy (above) in the colorful crowd and found out he is a “photographer, designer, and visual artist” named Ali Mahdavi. The well-known Iranian/French photographer does some very creative ads for Cartier, Louboutin, Piaget etc. Makes a very interesting party guest…

CHRISTINA AGUILERA IS STILL GLAD SHE LEFT “THE VOICE”

Christina Aguilera seemed very relieved when she finally left The Voice last year after six seasons. Like it or not, the show DID give her career a boost. Since she left, Christina released an album, Liberation, which didn’t exactly burn up the charts. She’s also been touring with mediocre success and performed at the Hard Rock in Las Vegas up until June. She returns to Vegas in September, but for now she’s in Europe and turned up at the Jean-Paul Gaultier show in Paris as his muse. She shared her front row seat with an assortment of characters…
