WILL & GRACE: 25 YEARS LATER

The Paley Museum in New York is celebrating one of our all-time favorite TV shows, Will & Grace, on the 25th anniversary of the series debut- and the namesake stars are still lookin’ GOOD! Besides watching taped interviews with stars (Eric McCormack and Debra messing, above, and Sean Hayes and Megan Mullally) museum visitors can take photos in Will’s recreated living room,  examine original props and costumes, and re-watch landmark episodes. Keep in mind, this event is to celebrate the positive impact the diverse characters on this series had on future LGBTQ+ representation on TV. Too bad costar Leslie Jordan is no longer around to join the fun…

LET’S GIVE WILL & GRACE A HUGE FINALE

Whatever you do, don’t let pandemic malaise cause you to miss the final episode of Will & Grace tonight. (We’re glad someone reminded us) It’s such a special series – anyone who worked and lived in New York (or wanted to) in the late 90’s and early 2000’s and was gay or had gay friends, can happily identify with the characters. Such brilliant writers. We remember Jack cruising the men’s department in Bloomingdale’s -THAT’S how true to life this story was! The show ended in 2006 – before the economy crash when everyone lost jobs. Funny how this recent revival is ending at another traumatic time. Last chance to say goodbye to Will and Grace and Jack and Karen is tonight at 9.

WILL & GRACE SHOW IS MORE CHARITABLE THAN IT SEEMS

We’re even MORE impressed with the new Will & Grace since we learned how much MONEY the show earns for charities: a million dollars since the Oct 1 season premier! According to The Hollywood Reporter, producers hand out tickets to their live tapings to various charities to auction off. The charities are happy and ticket buyers also get a chance to meet the cast. The show’s producer Max Mutchnick explains that in the ten years they were off the air “it’s who we have become.” Not only do they raise money for charity, but they get a very enthusiastic audience…

DEBRA MESSING KNOWS A GOOD PARTY WHEN SHE SEES ONE

We happen to LOVE parties in stores because you can socialize, indulge, and shop at the same time! In Style magazine takes it a step further with their yearly Indulgence party for female celebrities only. It’s held at a rambling Brentwood home and every room is a gifting suite for designers clothing and cosmetic lines. This year luggage was offered to everyone to stuff with their acquisitions. Shopping without having to pay sounds like heaven, and it is. To keep up their strength the pampered celebs have top catering companies with tables of all kinds of amazing food, cocktails – and desserts galore. Poolside massages and spa treatments abound. And guests can gossip with all their friends throughout. Men were hired to carry all the ladies’ loot to their cars. No wonder the famous faces turn out by the dozen…..

WILL & GRACE – TOGETHER AGAIN – AS DIFFERENT PEOPLE

Will & Grace is one of our all-time favorite comedy series, so we were delighted to hear that Eric McCormack is guest-starring on Debra Messing’s series “The Mysteries of Laura.“Mysteries” didn’t bowl us over in the beginning, but seems to be improving. Eric, whose TNT show “Perception” was cancelled, will play an arrogant surgeon whose wife is murdered. He also happens to be Laura’s ex-boyfriend, and Laura is in charge of the investigation. (Is that ethical?) Anyway, we love the idea of seeing them together again.

“WILL & GRACE” STAR DEBRA MESSING IS MAKING A FALL COMEBACK

Debra Messing looks like she hasn’t a care in the world as she relaxes outside a yogurt shop and reads her book. In fact, the Will & Grace star has a lot to look forward to – she’s starring in an NBC pilot this fall called “Smash.” It’s a musical show about Broadway that has been compared to “A Chorus Line.” Debra plays a song writer. She’ll have a hard time topping the success of “Will & Grace” – one of our all-time favorites. (Does anyone else think Will & Grace” jumped the shark when Debra got pregnant?)

THE WOMEN: NOT A MAN IN SIGHT

Much of the amazing cast of the updated version of “The Women” showed up at the premier located, ironically, at Mann’s theater in Hollywood. From left are Jada Pinkett, Annette Bening, Debra Messing, Meg Ryan, Eva Mendes, and Debi Mazar. A superb collection of acting talent. There’s not a single man in this cast and we can hardly wait to see how they pull that off. Not even a cab driver or doorman?

DEBRA MESSING IS NOT PREGNANT

Last summer rumors were flying on both coasts that Debra Messing was expecting for the second time. Photographs, like this one from July, only reinforced the rumors. That model-skinny look from Will & Grace seemed gone forever. But it turns out, there’s no baby in the oven. She’s not pregnant, she’s just eating too much of her favorite food pepperoni pizza. Debra finished filming The Women and has been seen regularly at the Equinox gym in Westwood working up a vigorous sweat on the stairmaster.
