Big Adventure
Don’t know about you, but we still love Pee Wee Herman, and we were upset to learn there was a special screening of Pee Wee’s Big Adventure at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery (movie night) Saturday night and WE MISSED it! The movie was sold out and all the picnickers on their blankets and folding lawn chairs had a BIG SURPRISE! Paul Reubens and many cast members of the 1985 movie had a reunion right there on stage! The audience screamed and charged the stage with their cameras and phones. The two main characters I remember best are Paul and cutie pie E.G. Daily who played Pee Wee’s girlfriend. His makeup artist on the old show works out of L.A. at Sephora. He said Paul was the nicest guy. Congrats!

My daughter grew up watching Pee Wee’s Playhouse, Pee Wee’s Big Adventure, among others and she is a well adjusted young lady. Pee Wee is the best and so what if Paul Reubens got side tracked…he is an incredible entertainer and I still watch reruns of his material…I will always remember Laurence Fishburne as Cowboy Curtis!!!

Wow – I am really amazed how carefully his comeback is working out. First the Adult Swim rebroadcasts, then this excellent locale for screening his old movie, and finally the planned new movies ahead. Pee Wee really deserves the recognition of his contribution to american culture – just count all those emmys and compare them to second-string tv shows that win some today.

Glad to see Pee Wee’s Playhouse is finally out on DVD. Now I can watch him in the privacy of my own living room, smoke weed, and eat tons of popcorn & junk food!!
He is so cool on that show!! Talented & finally, I can have some fun at home on the weekends.

Love him, the film, E.G. Daily is the best (check out her two A&M albums – – hard to find on CD) and Diane Salinger (Simone)(pictured) was in the campy Jane Fonda film “The Morning After,” “Ghost World” and recently did a “Curb Your Enthusiasm.” Thanks for this, Janet!
